Don't really want to get into the "Hows" of how it happened... but got into a pretty bad hole this past weekend, one that I may never live to climb out of.

I am down a bad amount to my local. It happens. For me it's the first time it's happened. Nonetheless... I could pay it and walk away admirably, but then my bankroll is gone for good. OR........... I could make 1 bet, 1 shot, 1 single bullet and get out of this, clean slate... ready to fire again. If I lose, I am deep F8ckin shit. Maybe you've been there, maybe you haven't.

I think you all know what I'm going to do.

I need your best bet this upcoming week(end), and please support it with why if you can. There are a lot of people I like to read on here and respect their knowledge. Your best bet, and why. Lets dig out of this hole.

The Green Bay Packers are in a must win situation. I really expect them to go to Detroit on Thursday and play their absolute best game. Detroit has been playing well the past few weeks but it's time for them to come back down to earth. They barely beat the Packers in their previous game and Aaron Rodgers almost came back and must be dying to make up for that loss. Detroit beat Philly and Oakland after that.

You're in a tough spot. So are the Green Bay Packers. If you have one team to choose to save you, choose a team that has talent and will be playing their hearts out. Packers will win by double digits.

Nice post. I had the thought. I also have had the thought recently like... man this Detroit team is going to be someone no one wants to play down the stretch; they have nothing to lose and before the season some guys I respect thought they would contend for the NFC title (Jim Miller on Sirius and some others). Pack is in consideration here.

Thinking about teasing packers; Patriots, and maybe carolina or atlanta

Pay up and then work to get it back. Bowl season begins in three weeks, then the NFL playoffs. There will be plenty of good opportunities available to you in the coming weeks. You're operating on credit, and your standing with your local will be solid in the future if you pay what you owe now, which you said you can afford to do.

Chasing can be exhilarating, but there are few things worse than losing a bet that you can't afford to cover. You won't be able to sleep, and thoughts of suicide, criminal acts, etc. will ricochet through your head as you wonder how you let your innocuous hobby put you in this spot.

If there's one thing I've learned in years of doing this, it's that there are no locks, especially when you desperately need one. Searching for the one bet that will bring you even will cloud your judgment. I've been there.

Pay the man, then try to get it back by the Super Bowl--always betting within your means. A reasonable bookie might let you pay half (or some other portion) and continue playing. If he thinks you're a square, he'll want you to keep betting. But don't put yourself at risk by going double or nothing.

Pay the man something and he will still extend you an amount. Playing this way is a pussy way of doing it and F'ing a guy who is extending trust in you. I bet if you don't burn that bridge you will see a much better result. Also consider, you extend him trust to pay you if you get up big. Goes both ways in your situation.

i know alot of books who got burned by stiffs not paying. If you play and lose pay the man. your reputation is more important than the money if you want action play some small bets you can afford till you can build a bankroll again. Dont be a loser no one will ever trust you again

Worked both ends of this game for a long time when I was younger and seen a lot of unpleasant shit happen to guys who got in too deep. By your words: If I lose, I am deep F8ckin shit. Pay up. Now. You can always build another bankroll. You can't always get back what the consequences of stiffing the wrong people might entail.

And your bookie is going to let you make another bet without getting paid up. I'm sure you collected when it was time.

Advice from a old timer: Pay your debt> You will feel much better when you don't owe. Then regroup/start over fresh and keep your bets reasonable if you want to last.

Just my advice.

good luck to you

We have a limit, if you are over that limit (he or me) you dont have to pay either way. I am just under the limit. Don't want to go into the amount.
