I do remember mine, way back, I mean way way back in the 70's...the Orioles were playing the Twins, they had a big lead in the game, Grant Jackson who was a pretty solid lefthandeder came in to relieve the starter (who I don't remember)...the Orioles led by 2 still I think the score was 5-3 at this point and Cesar Tovar came to bat...I remember telling my parents this guy will never hit a home run, and sure enough Tovar sent one over the left field wall and the Twins won the game.

my dad took me to fenway park to see Clemens (my favorite player at the time) pitch against the CA Angels, i think Mark Langston pitched for them, but i don't remember...

i couldn't tell you what year it was, but it was probably late 80's...

the one thing i remember specifically was that Bill Buckner got brought in during the late innings and the place gave him a standing ovation...

you'd think they'd hate the guy after the 86 WS, but they had obviously forgiven the guy. i'll have to call my dad to find out what year that was to see how much time had passed since the 86 WS.

Mid 90s. It was pouring outside. The Pirates were in town. The Marlins won 4-0. Two different home runs. All I can remember from the night, but have the ticket stub somewhere in my files with all of the others.

Buckner was dealt to the Angels midway thru the following season (1987), he was never as good as he was in 1986 ever again, in fact in '86 he had hit the most home runs in any season 18 at age 36...he dropped off pretty quickly after that....bad wheels got him.

I will never forget the day Long Long ago when my father took me to Yankee Stadium. It was May 1st 1957. Yes Mickey Mantle my childhood hero was playing centerfield, from Oklahoma i might add, as we were at that time. I was 8 years old, i was in the second grade and got out of school for 3 days when we went to the Big Apple! What a vacation that was !!

i just looked it up, must have been in 1990. that was the only time buckner played for the Sox (he got traded back to them for a few games in 90) and Langston played for the CA Angels.

yeah, my dad always told me how buckner was a real solid player for quite a few years early on i his career.

First game I was 4 years old at Fenway, don't remember much...the most clear memory of my first game was at Fenway and Frank Viola pitched most of the game...for some reason his name has stuck in my head since

July 20, 1974.....Cleveland Municipal Stadium
Cleveland 10, Oakland 9....John Ellis knocks in a pair of runs in the bottomo of the ninth and the Tribe rallies for a victory. Lord, I remember everything about that day.....Still have autographs from the game, including Buddy Bell, Charlie Spikes, Gaylord Perry and Mr Afro himself -- Oscar Gamble. Reggie Jackson blew me off after the game, and told me he was too tired to sign. Prick!!
As exciting as the day was, there was a downside. I went with my older brother and a group of his friends. The game was a Saturday afternoon affair. We originally planned to go to the Friday night game, but I ended up wiping out on my bike earlier in the day, had to go get stitches, and we ended up having to hold off for a day. Rather than being at the Friday night game, I had to settle for Joe Tait's radio call of Dick Bosman pitching a no-hitter:nohead: ...To this day, my brother still bitches at me over his loss of seeing a no-no in person. Would have been AWESOME to see a no-hitter in my first-ever game, especially against the then-powerful A's....Nonetheless, the 10-9 win was something I'll never forget.

Went to my first Cubs game in 1969 and have grown used to disappointment. Used to go to all scheduled doubleheaders too.

My first game was a White Sox-Rangers game back in the mid 90's at the Ballpark in Arlington. Frank Thomas homered and I think the White Sox won.

My second game was when Hideo Nomo through a no-no for the BoSox against the Orioles at Camden Yards. Still have my ticket.

Marlins @ Mets in 2005.

I was surprised how quiet the crowd was compared to European football crowds - but other than that it was a great experience.

My GF was bored out of her mind though - of course the 45 min rain delay didn't help either.

It was Yankee Stadium. Yankees vs Royals in the Reggie Jackson and George Brett era. I think the Royals somehow won it.

Cubs at Wrigley in early 70's but can't who they played. Started a well worn path to the ball park. Always said I was not a big baseball fan, but friends and family pointed out I was always going to games. Have since moved to New Hampshire and split weekend season tickets to the Red Sox. Still get a big smile on my face when I come up through the concourse and see the field.

First game was 4/19/1966 Patriot's day doubleheader (Red Sox v. Tigers) at Fenway. Seats were on the railing in left field. I remember a lot of people yelling out to Willie Horton and he would look up at the crowd often. They were yelling at Yaz as well, but he never looked our way once. They actually let ticket holders leave the stadium between games to go out and watch the marathon and come back in. I don't believe it was anything near a sellout.

The 2nd game I went to was 9/18/66 at Fenway. It was the major league debut of both Reggie Smith and Mike Andrews (Sept call-ups) and it was Bat day. I got a Joe Foy autographed bat.
