Does anybody else here believe in FREEDOM?
- Freedom of Speech ?
- Freedom of Religion ?
- Freedom of assembly ?
- Freedom from unjust arrests?
- Freedom to own a firearm ?
- Freedom from excessive taxation?
July 4th 1776 some of the most politically intelligent historians, lawyers and farmers got together and created a government based on freedom. You see, they didn't think that men were born under governments that gave them rights, THEY BELIEVED THAT MEN WERE BORN FREE and that governments only took rights away !
These men that signed the Dec. of Indepenance put their names, lives, and honor on the line against the greatest country in the world at the risk of death! They believed in Freedom so much that they were ready to die for it! The country these brave Americans broke away with is no longer the strongest country on earth anymore.
So many good young Americans died fighting for freedom. These volunteer soldiers were underpaid, undersupplied, and under trained fighting against the strongest military in the world! We had boys as young as 15, and old out of shape men fighting against the Red coats. There were instances were the American men didn't have swords or guns, but spears! The American men had to steal supplies from a previous war and pirate a brittish supply ship to have the basic supplies to fight. These men shed BLOOD for freedom, and yet we stand here and elect people that take it away.
The next time you so easily push a button or pull a lever to take away freedom, that people had to fight and die for you to have that freedom. Just remember that taking freedoms back is much harder than giving them away, and that you might have to die to have those rights back.
