Does anybody agree O. St. should have not scored the TD?

I was thinking it the whole time.

Just go down and let the clock keep ticking.

All they needed was a FG, thay should have been the idea once they were 1st and 10 on the 25.

Can't count the field goal as a given, gotta take the TD points.
The extra point itself was close to being blocked, so anything can happen.

The only time you intentionally drop and down the ball is if the game will be over right then and there, (ie) you're already ahead, and the clock will just run by knelling on it.
That's the only time you do that.

I was thinking the Longhorns intentionally let the Buckeyes go to the end zone so they had over two minutes to work with.

:ohno:you are an idiot. There were over 2 minutes left. If Ohio St. would have just laid down trying to run the clock out, Texas could have called their timeouts and still had around 1:30 left, only needing a FG and remember college stops the clock on 1st downs

Can someone come up with a Reason why, Tressel went for 2 after their final touchdown. OSU was leading 21-17 at this point, the 2 would have put OSU ahead by 6 and not 5 points. The UT Touchdown would have beaten them either way. Was he holding out hope for a PAT block?

Yeah.. why being up by 4 or 5 - a TD still beats you. Get the 2 pt conv. and they have to get the TD then the extra point

Easy to say looking back, but not so easy when your defense has only given up what 17 points at the time? Finally had a rest and has played pretty well the entire night. Excluding when they were on the field the entire 3rd quarter.

I blame that game on Tressel and the rest of the coaching staff. Why completely go away from what was working in the first half in the 3rd quarter? Then when your backs to the wall, go back to what was working and end up taking the lead. They would have more than likely won if they didn't get all conservative in the 3rd.

Up 6 if UT scores and they block the xtra pt you have a tie game...There have been about 4 missed Xpts in the bowls so far so there is a slim chance of that happening. Besides I have seen coaches do that in almost every situation like that

I thought there were a few questionable decisions by OSU. Like Boeckman (White QB) should have had a couple more plays in not so obvious passing situations or have Pryor attempt a few more passes.

Tressel looked like he was having Post Traumatic Stress fom beatings by UF and LSU...at least they didn't get embarrassed...that counts for something around here...not so sure what it does for recruiting at tOSU.

If I weren't a gambler, I'd probably say that a slight inter-conference fix was in, but I am, so I won't.

But on the flip side, what if Texas scores a TD on the ensuing kickoff or early enough where OSU has time left after a Texas TD??? The Buckeyes could have won the game with a field goal instead of kicking it for the tie.

Just didn't make sense to me and I'm surprised neither of the announcers even bothered to mention it.
Tressel would've caught hell had the Buckeyes somehow got into field goal range, tie up the game, then lose in OT when they could've won it in regulation had they kicked the XP.
