What is your opinion on the NFL refusing to accept any advertising from the Las Vegas Convention Authority. Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman wanted to sue the NFL, but lawyers said since the NFL was a private business, they can accept or decline ads from whoever they choose.

Any company can refuse advertising revenue from any compnay.

Adbusters.com and other progressive groups wanted to pay national TV companies to air "buy nothing day" ads and boycott <insert company here> ads. They refused them.

Should martha stewart living be forced to accept advertising from playboy? NO. End of discussion

What opinion is there to be had? Even bringing this up is completely anticapitalist.

This was all about Oscar gaining free publicity. The NFL said it and I heard before it made the national news it was all about challenging the league and their anti-Nevada position on just about anything. And hey it worked. Companies surely can control the advertising, after all NBC can't call up CBS and demand that ads for 'Friends' be shown.

I can see your point WildBill. Oscar used to be a lawyer and knew that he couldn't force the networks to show the ads. It must have been for publicity.
