I do believe that certains aspects of the NBA are fixed (rigged).

Lebron Draft Lottery- Most say, if it is fixed why didn't he go to the Knicks, because if the Cavs didn't get LeBron the team would have had to fold or move and it would hurt the NBA in several markets because Cleveland had built a new arena within the last 5 years and the city would have been left holding the bag. So, other cities would have said, we aren't building a stadium for any teams anymore.
The number of times teams like the LAL have gotten favorable calls to their benefit.
I understand it would give the appearance that all out of people would need to be involved, but only Stern and the 3 Refs doing the game.
Look at the foul call in the Jazz/Lakers game last year, where they called and 1 against Boozer and Utah, Odom was in utter shock.
The NBA is a for profit organization. The average person is a sucker, rich people have always taken advantage of the poor, no different here.
Of course things are fixed.....but not as much as people think...Tim Donaghy is the only one that got caught so far....Fixes range from lots of things....refs, players...etc....we all have heard about point shaving in college basketball games....these are FACTS.....I think the NBA is the most crooked....lets face it, if they want a Boston-LA Finals, they will do everything possible to get it...they wanted it last year...I have no idea why, because the ratings werent THAT great...but probably better than seeing the Spurs and whover....I just think the NBA is a terrible product....but the biggest fixing is the NBA lottery...the frozen envelope with the Knicks and Ewing....and teaming up Robinson and Duncan...and of course Lebron playing for his hometown...Stern keeps saying its all a conspiracy...blah blah blah...not MY league...but why not televise the lottery then? Why is done behind closed doors with one dipshit there to say he witnessed it...to me that opens you up for a conspiracy....just my 2 cents

I always see these kind of threads talking about games being fixed and always laughed thinking no way.
Well a couple of weeks ago I witnessed a fixed game.
It was the Duke/Virginia Tech game and the unbelievable travel calls that were not called. How 3 officials could not see the obvious traveling calls is way beyond me.

it doesnt come up constantly. i only hear it on gambling forums for the obvious donaghy angle. you go to any nba board, real gm, hoopshype, etc. you will be hard pressed to find 1 nba is fixed thread.
you don't hear about the nhl because nobody cares about the nhl.
you don't hear it about the nfl because, well actually i hear it alot about the nfl on this forum, but its similar to the nba, its not discussed outside of here.
mlb we should leave it alone and let it heal off of all the cheating and steroids that have destroyed the credibility of the game.
simple answer is, people get mad when they lose bets, so they say stupid things to make themselves feel better.
in the end, you believe what you want to believe. if you believe the nba is fixed, you believe it. i still argue its impossible to pull off a league wide deal without nobody going down. if the nba was fixed, i don't believe donaghy would've been caught, i'll just leave it at that though.
What Im saying though is, the games arent necessarily fixed....just the product and the drafts.......all the manipulating....thats whats fixed....but the Donaghy thing IS real.....whos to say he's the only one? So games WERE fixed.....it isnt a question of are games fixed, the answer is YES! Although maybe not EVERY game.....its much easier to fix college games...kids dont make the money pros make....bookies and mob guys can get to those kids much easier than NBA players....probably why in the NBA they get to the referees...they dont make as much money....

think about this though. you have a refereeing scandal that could've destroyed the sport. you really think stern would be fixing games after this? stern is not a dumb man.
in regards to the drafts being fixed. i have a hard time believing that just because it's in a closed room means its fixed.
you could basically say the same thing with baseball football teams tanking it so they can get a top pick.
Your missing my point....I dont think Stern is in on the fixes with games...its above him...he's just naive....he doesnt get it....as far as baseball and football teams tanking it....the draft isnt the same...its not as important to draft high like it is in basketball...and as far as the closed room...to do the lottery, why even do that to put yourself in that position? Even the local 3 and 4 digit lottery is televised here...You may not think its fixed, but you would have a hard time convincing me the drafts arent fixed....all those drafts are just to coincidental...
A lot of things arent fixed for gambling...this place thinks it is.....I think its fixed due to marketing and television....
I still think the Superbowl a few years ago was fixed when Pittsburgh beat Seattle.....those calls were terrible against the Seahawks...but they wanted Pittsburgh to win, the whole Bettis homecoming and all that....just my opinion....but to think NOTHING in sports is fixed, whether it be for gambling reasons, tv, marketing, or any other reason, is just being naive...
