Just wondering if they need to win or just make sure that their players don’t get hurt...

If the Chiefs win this week and next week and the Patriots lose to the Dolphins next week, then the Chiefs have the 2nd seed with a first round bye

If they win they are still the 3 seed 1 game behind #2 NE.
The question is, then, if they win next week and NE loses, does KC get #2 seed and bye?

So KC knows they have little hope, why tackle head first and give your body for that? It is a war of attrition, does Reid want some of his best players dinged or injured?
KC can lose, then rest their key starters next week vs SD because they host a wild card game the next week.
I would say they will be flat, like Seattle was today. Bears are dinged but at home and want to finish with a winning record. Trubisky has been playing better, at home, SNF, getting 7...?

Patriots are NOT losing to the Dolphins hahahahaha.....so basically KC has their playoff seed set. I can see their main objective tonight being NO INJURIES

Houston can finish 11-5 and they own the 1st tiebreaker with a win over KC.

The Chiefs have to win out and finish 12-4 to clinch the 3 seed and face either Ten. or Pit. The last thing they want to do is drop to a 4 seed and play Buffalo in the WC round.

SO would you throw everything you got at SD if you are the Chiefs, or rest/protect Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, and several other key players, to stay away from Buffalo? If I was KC I would rather face Buffalo than Tennessee, though I agree I would prefer playing Pittsburg.
If you do not get a bye it is wise to rest your key players last game...
