disturbing new ESPN trend

First they give us that crap "Playmakers", now they waste two hours in the morning with some horrible show called "Cold Pizza" on ESPN2. They were interviewing two guys from a BROADWAY show. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but this is a SPORTS network. This is like a really crappy "Today" show.
ESPN gives us two sh*tty movies based on excellent books: "Season on the Brink" and "The Junction Boys", then a quasi-reality football show "Playmakers", now they are ripping off Katie Couric and that Gumball Kid.

This network is going down the path of MTV, will that Living with Jeremy Roenick parody become a reality next.

God, give me anything but this crap.

MaX, There has been talk about that, and for all intensive purposes the FoxNet and ESPN are gaming channels, with fantasy shows, tout shows, and constant tickers. I think it's the stigma that the pro leagues would not go along with it.

I know that ESPN and FOX are somewhat these types of channels. But it would be nice to have a channel that focused on Sporst Gambling and everything that goes with it. Score tickers are nice but what about line tickers, pre game line analysis, not these has been players making their picks or Nick giving his lousy picks, although his wife looks nice

Playmakers kicks ass. What you are watching is
closer to the truth(not talking about the guy
scoring drugs at the stadium)than you think.
Most of the players in the NFL are watching the
mini-series. The ones that are complaining about it are secretly watching it too. The NFL
is putting pressure on the players not to endorse it.

1. Players using Drugs? Never
2. Players knocking chicks up? Couldn't be
3. Player around when someone is shot? not in my life time.
4. Players on Roids? fantasy
5. Players hitting spouse? what imagination these writers have.
6.Teammates not liking each other? come on its one big happy family.
7. Homo-sexual player hiding his life? no, players in the nfl are open to queers in the lockerroom, just look at all the guys in the NFL today who admit to being gay.
8. Player being pushed by an overbearing parent his whole life? Get Real

That covers about all 8 shows so far.

I have heard that something called The Gaming Network has been in the works for some time now. Don't know when the launch date is though.

Sort of reminds one of MTV's death, when they stopped playing videos & got "Real".

ESPN kills self in reverse form..leaves real-time for fictitious cr@p.

Playmakers uses so many cliched themes combined with over acting that I can't stand watching it. Frankly, Playmakers sucks.
