They never showed a slow-mo replay on the telecast, but I taped it and played it back slow. From the camera on the goal line, it looked like the ball actually broke the plane of the goal line just as Brown caught it. If nothing else, it was EXTREMELY close as to whether Brown was in or not. I'm absolutely amazed the play was not at least reviewed. And I can't believe NO-ONE has even questioned the call.

MD- Actually the play wasn't really that close. Brown was a half a yard away from the goal line and the ball even further because he caught it facing away from the goal line. He got hit right away and wasn't able to get any push toward the goal line. It would have been a good play if Tuiasasopo had tossed it a half second sooner when Brown was in the end zone.

Finally someone agrees with me here - was beginning to think I was in the twilight zone and was the only one in the country that saw it.

Sorry to disagree there SB, but after watching the play in superslowmo and stop action - the ball actually appears to cross the plane of the goal line just as Brown is coming back to catch it. Since they never showed it in slowmo and stop action on the telecast, it was hard to catch with the naked eye. If you taped it and played it back slow, you'd see what I mean.

my roommate is a raiders fan and taped it and his vcr has slow mo. looking at the replay, the ball had to a mere inch away from the goalline if not breaking the plane, it was way way closer than it looked in real time. I couldnt believe it when i saw it in slow mo, it was like I was looking at something else.

I wouldn't call that a bad beat. That's nothing. Anyone who bet on the Raiders deserved to lose tonight.

How can one feel robbed by betting a team coming of losses to Chicago & Cleveland playing arguably the best team in the nfl, and a record of 2-4?

Gee, I thought Oak did everything but cover. 3-1 in turnovers was the difference. If Porter catches the ball in the corner of the endzone (not his fault), if Oak kicks the fg in the first half, or makes the 4th and 1, or doesn't muff the punt, or..... Of course, bad teams find a way to lose!

Play should have been reviewed.

ABC knows most of the market went to bed or flipped off station.

What was Brown doing even close to the goal line? Why was this even a close play? I realize Brown had to go toward the line to catch the ball but this guy is a veteran. He's been in places like this before. Run your route deeper in the end zone to prevent this from happening.

I was definitely surprised (happily) that they didn't review it. I was very afraid to go to bed for fear of a late review.

On a side note, has anyone noticed the terrible angles that TV is showing us on these reviewable plays. The one most coming to mind is the Glenn TD in the 1st qtr vs Detroit. The angle that was probably best was the same one we saw it live in, but they kept showing angles from the opposite endzone (like you can tell if he is on the end line from that angle).

I don't really care if y'all think I was an idiot for betting on a 2-4 team vs. the "best team in football". We all have our own reasons for betting on certain games. I'll put my long term record up against anyone's around here and I guarantee I'll come out looking not too bad. This, however, is BESIDES THE POINT!! The point is THE PLAY SHOULD HAVE BEEN REVIEWED! Is there any earthly reason why it wasn't??? I'm just irritated as hell 'cause I've had 3 hard luck weeks in a row, and felt I got robbed here! Whatever - I'll get over it.
