Come to think of it, I did have those two teams, Willie.

I had written off the Stanford game, but followed it on my phone while I was playing in a poker tournament. I was elated with the final score, but couldn't believe everything I read later on about Stanford lining up for a field goal, then USC calling timeout, etc. I still haven't seen a highlight of that last Stanford TD.

I could give you a laundry list of games that have gone against me in similar fashion. How about Seattle +4 over the Steelers in the Super Bowl? Take yesterday's blown call, then watch half a dozen equally bad calls in one game all go in favor of the same team. Auburn-Florida a few years back also comes to mind. Think I had Florida +3.5...they got down three with only seconds left, but fucked around and lateraled the kickoff everywhere like the Chargers did yesterday, only to drop it and have Auburn run it back in for a meaningless touchdown. And don't even get me started on all the college hoops plays I've dropped over the years because of meaningless halfcourt buzzer beaters. Think of every one you can remember, and I was probably on the wrong side...

I did not have action on either game, but there is no reason to complain.

Pitt had no business covering that game, it would have been total luck if they did.

And Stanford was covering until very late, it was hardly even a backdoor cover.

Gee, a 24 point dog was covering most of the game, who would have thunk it?

Pitt would have been a lucky cover, and SD backers would have been fucked, but Pitt was the better team by every standard of measurement, except one little 13-1 stat.

Anyhow, anyone who gets reamed like that should be allowed to vent a little.

I had the Texans plus 3.5 vs the Colts way back in week 5 or something, and Arkansas ML vs UK, two more classics.

It seems like the bad beats are easier to remember. Outside of a little bitching here and there, I really don't dwell on them at all.

Sunday & Monday nights were new games.

A Stanford TD was a lucky catch as I was lucky on their side. I thought no way, and never happened when you're down by 28 and try a FG to seal the game. The timeout call by Pete Carroll tried to stop 3 pts FG make me wonder if it was fishy???Hmm... Open line was 25 ??? What the hell would you care if they kick FG on your team when you already won the game. Jim Haubaugh did not fix the game, Pete Carroll tried to Fix the game, but the end, Jim screwed Pete payday with a lucky catch, that's all.

There are some things that people just don't see (like the case with Stanford), sure they were losing by more than 2 scores, etc. But if you're gonna lose anyway, might as well make use of the game time and REAL defenders to practice some plays/schemes/drives etc. See what ya got, give your QB some experience under a short clock. "Go out there and play like we're down 5 points"

To the betting public, sure we can wish and hope for our desired outcome of a game, but the players don't care. They care about winning, job security, and pussy-- not necessarily in that order.

I had the Chargers +5, unfortunately I parlay it with Vikes +4...sorry Vikes screwed up my card. I will take the Chargers -3 this week against the Colts.

I don't think the USC game was fixed, just had a fucked up finish.

I don't think the Pitt game was fixed, I just think the officiating crew was totally incompetent.

I think they were both bad beats.

Nothing fishy about the USC/Stanford game. Just two coaches fucking with each other and one who does anything he can to cover a spread.

Saying Pitt had no business covering is laughable. SD's only TD was a PI gift in the endzone and we don't need to discuss the end. But no need to go over for umpteenth time.

Coming from someone who had no money on either game but watched both..
