i was not able to watch or listen to that game,...

& was interested if someone could confirm what happened in the last 90 seconds...

what i understand is that troy leading 42-27, started taking a knee on 3rd down from their own 5 yard line...

then instead of punting on 4th down...or taking a safety to end the game at 42-29...they took a knee & gave fiu the ball at the two yardline...

fiu gets an easy td to make it 42-33 & then what happened? did they attempt the xp? did they go for two?

thanks

If there is no time left in college when they score a touchdown they don't kick the extra point if there is no reason. I got fucked a couple of years ago when LSU traveled to Kentucky and Kentucky scored a touchdown with no time left. That made the game a push for the total. I had the over. I remember it to this day because I figured I had a shot to get the over when they went for the two point conversion or kicked the XP. Here they just ran off the field, and I settled with a push which was fine. A push is better then a loss. But here is what happened in your game:

Troy at 1:37 TROY FIU
1st and 10 at TROY 6 TROY penalty 3 yard Delay of Game on Team accepted. 42 27
1st and 13 at TROY 3 Levi Brown rush for 2 yards to the Troy 5.
2nd and 11 at TROY 5 Timeout FLORIDA INTL, clock 1:32.
2nd and 11 at TROY 5 Levi Brown rush for no gain, fumbled, forced by Team, recovered by Troy Levi Brown at the Troy 5.
3rd and 11 at TROY 5 Team rush for a loss of 1 yard to the Troy 4.
4th and 12 at TROY 4 Team rush for a loss of 2 yards to the Troy 2.
DRIVE TOTALS: TROY drive: 4 plays -4 yards, 01:33 TROY DOWNS

Florida International at 0:04 TROY FIU
1st and Goal at TROY Paul McCall pass complete to Jason Frierson for 2 yards for a TOUCHDOWN. 42 33
End of 4th Quarter

As you can see they just ran off the field. They did not attempt a point after.

Didn't happen in the L'Ville Connecticut game yesterday... ironically right after L'Ville scored to get right on the number. Seemed quite shady... too bad the kicker shanked the extra point.

i had troy boxer...

& something was not right w/the ending of that game...

if blakeney did not want to punt...all he had to do was take a safety & the game would have been over at 42-29...

this game was 'middled' & cost many troy ticket holders that did not have -8, -8.5 or 9

so louisville scored w/no time left on the clock? & then attempted the extra point?

Hes coaching in the Sun Belt conference. Of course a little cash thrown his way could make things like this happen.

They did. Somebody wanted/needed that cover bad. Even though I got backdoored on U-Conn, I got a miracle push. It was almost like the kicker choked under pressure or something, I couldn't believe that they didn't flag the defense for off-sides or something after he missed.

I guess its optional whether or not you kick the XP. Im going to try to search for the rule. But I have definitely been on a side where they dont attempt the point after when there is no time left.

the scoring team will not be allowed to kick an extra point or try for 2 points since the extra point would not affect the outcome of the game. (NCAA Rule 8-2-2(a)).

This rule has been edited by the rules committee a few times over the past 15 years because it was thought that after every TD the scoring team should be allowed to Try for an extra point to allow kickers to maintain or beat records and other statistical reasons. But it was later decided these are not sufficient reasons to allow an extra try attempt when the points would not affect the result of the game.

thanks for posting the rule...

it would appear each conference has its own interpretation of it

the way troy ended this game is very suspicious...

it fits into the perfect category...one in which they think no one is looking...

very few in attendance at fiu & no television...

the game was middled due to how troy's hc handled the last minute of the game

ive had the rule go both ways this yr

had auburn 2h, tennessee scores a meaningless touchdown as time expires (im pushing now on the 6 pt score). kiffin wants to go for 2, but the refs dont allow an attempt as game was out of reach and the game is over.

i have uconn -13 this weekend and louisville scores as time expires (im pushing again on the 6 pt score), this time the refs let them randomly kick an xp even though uconn is up 12 or so at this point, and the kicker misses the xp.

that troy game was one scam for the ages thats for sure.

yep...

this was a catastrophe of a ncaa football game...

all troy had to do was snap the ball on 4th down & take the safety...

clock would have run out & the game would have ended with an easy troy cover...

with the way things went in florida...

someone wanted a middle & made a whole lot of money for doing it...

imo...levi brown was in on this...

he tried to fumble the ball before the rest of the 3rd & 4th down horseshit happened...

i think a few years from now...someone is going to make a movie about troy & the night they turned themselves over to the 'dark side'

troy opened at -11...

plenty of fiu money at +11, 10.5, 10, 9.5

plenty of troy written at -9, -8.5 & -8

game lands on 9 because of the troy hc & qb brown

In the NFL they avoid middles to protect the bookies. All Carolina had to do was take one knee, run the clock down to .03 and kick an 8 Yard FG. But John Fix wouldn't here of it, and had them run it in with .29 left.

By the way, BW's crew steamed the Auburn Tenneseee UNDER from 52down to the closing number of 48.5 or 49 in most outs. If Tennessee kicks the P.A.T the game falls 49.
