It was good much better than the Cream reunion.

Have not been to a major concert in at least ten years but if they come to my town I'll pay whatever they are asking.

Excellent. I have seen both in concert (in the 80s) while they were doing separate tours and have been a big fan of both since the 60s.

I will have to see if the show is broadcast here in Costa Rica somehow.

Thanks, wil.

Huge Winwood fan, 'Arc of a Diver' is one of the greatest albums of all time, Winwood has been getting it done for almost 50 years now, and pairing him with Clapton is as good as it gets.

Yeah I remember I was going to see Clapton,461 tour.

Was working as KP and one of the GI's told me he saw Clapton with Blind Faith and I was envious.

The 461 tour was his last great tour in my opinion.

Saw Winwood at Bill Grahams amphitheater in Mt View.

It was comical when he went into the intro rift to Spencer Davis/ Gimme some Lovin.

It was a total stampede of women rushing the stage.

The man has a set of pipes.

One of the albums I wore the grooves out of back in the early 70's was "Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert". It was a live one time gig and the band included Winwood, as well as, Pete Townsend and Ron Wood. If I recall it also included Rick Grech and Jim Capaldi, so it had three 4ths of Blind Faith. Winwood handled many of the lead vocals.

Like Wil, I saw both on seperate tours, but this was around 1974-75. Winwood was fronting Traffic (only time I saw them) and Clapton was flogging his "I Shot the Sherriff" LP. Clapton did play Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Way Home" (originally sung by Winwood) and it was sung by Yvonne Elliman. Both gigs were at Boston Garden.

That was the 461 Ocean Blvd Tour as I saw the first two shows of the tour in Hawaii where Yvonne Elliman is from.

From there they went onto Australia embarking the world tour.

Was after his hiatus from kicking his addiction and kicked ass all though they drank like drunken sailors on the stage and a few years later after waiting in line to score Clapton tickets he canceled the tour because of bleeding ulcer, alcohol related I'm sure.

Very Big Fan of Both...So much so that back in March when i first heard of this tour. I called a friend of mine, who's a ticket broker to get me a couple of tickets.

Of course I wanted to see them in NJ for the 10th ( Closer to me )
But he can only come up with Philly which is on the 12th

No big deal though, since the Wife is from Philly !

Saw Clapton in the early 70's as well..i actually dont remember much about his show but the warm up band was called Navasota and man they kicked ass! Never seen or heard of them again after that. When i read this thread i thought of em, hit good old google and ill be damned if they aint still around!!!!! Not exactly the way i remember them but a good memory none the less.
A few weeks later ELP came and the same thing happened, they were blown away by the warmup band...Trapeze.
Anyway if you care to ck out Navasota they have a myspace page...http://www.myspace.com/musicfromnavasotario.......

I think Winwood is just under the elite of songwriters with Lennon, Marx,Taupin,etc......

Going to the show here in Chicago on June 17th at the United Center. Have never seen either one of them before .... had tickets to see Clapton in Kansas City back in the early 80's and 3 days or so before the show the roof at Kemper Arena collapsed .... never got re-scheduled so missed out.
