Don't overthink this one. Detroit takes care of business today, early and often.

Tampa is so overrated....they backdoor-ed their way into the playoffs and caught a huge break running into a shell of a team in the Eagles who finished the season 1-6.

I was at the Saints Tampa game a couple weeks ago...it wasn't pretty. I expect to see this sort of game again today.

Tampa is dead last in the NFL in running the ball, and we all know what happens when Mayfield gets happy feet.

Throw in the Lions offense and some of the intangibles (first playoff run in decades), and I think this game is setting up to be a blowout.

The unity of the players, coaches, fans, ownership......this team is believing and gelling at the right time.

Unless the NFL throws the gratuitous flags to keep Tampa in the game, this one gets out of hand.

Detroit -6 max units
Detroit 1q 2 units (playing ML here)
Detroit 1h -3 2 units
Detroit -13 +210 2 units

Kinda like Buffalo over in the late game...

I played it at over 44 -130

44 a key number in sports totals....as big as 3 and 7 for betting NFL totals

You haven’t mentioned the piss poor Lions secondary who can’t cover anyone. Lions defence is non existent and you are ok laying 6 points with their horrible D?

Point taken...although I think its a push as Detroit has a ferocious pass rush...Mike Evans is hobbled - would be surprised if he makes it through the game - and Tampa will not move the ball on the ground at all - tie it all together and Mayfield will have trouble finding time to take advantage of any perceived weakness of Detroit's secondary. Should I have mentioned Detroit is ranked 19 overall and Tampa is ranked 23rd or that Tampa's pass defense is actually worse than Detroit's?

I always think a good defensive line and front 7 at home on artificial turf has an advantage over an offensive line that is used to slower natural turf.

Agreed...honestly, these games the stats and rankings are just a starting point. I rarely use rankings as to pick games, unless it is very lobsided...in this case today it is.

The intangibles to me are WAY more important today in this matchup. I played high level sports for 25 years - what's happening in that Detroit locker room, city, chemistry, believing, brotherhood...is something that is hard to understand....something that I have experienced on the good and bad end. These guys are believing in the coach, the system, their QB, their defense...the city of Detroit hasn't seen or been this excited in 30+ years.

Brutal no call on tampa gotta be on the right side-went for 2 gee
Correct - the NFL is a business and a big pot of money that gets divvied up around the league. What story is better? Mayfield or the Lions?
