Sounds like he's a go

The one problem with that scenario is that Dan Cleary left today's practice injured, apparently hurt by a Niklas Kronwall hit into the boards during an early drill. After Cleary left, Mikael Samuelsson moved up to the second line centered by Henrik Zetterberg and Kopecky moved up to the third line centered by Valtteri Filppula.

As for the Wings' other lines...

April 14, RedWingsCorner: Dan Cleary left the ice. I'm not sure what's ailing him, but he was run into the boards pretty hard during a drill by Niklas Kronwall.
With Cleary out, here are the lines they're practicing with now ...

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa
Franzen-Zetterberg-Samuelsson
Hudler-Filppula-Kopecky
Draper-Helm-Maltby

In other words, Samuelsson is moved up from the third to the second line, Kopecky is moved up from the fourth to the third and Draper is bumped over to wing with Helm in the middle of the fourth.

Hmmm, your correct. I'll have to recheck the date I cut and pasted this from.

He's out for games one and two.

Ok..I see. I guess he skated in practice but won't be playing in the games. He's another ditty.

Red Wings' Kris Draper out for first two games; Dan Cleary leaves practice with 'minor' injury

Tuesday April 14, 2009, 1:13 PM

Update from Tuesday's practice: Wings center Kris Draper won't play in the first two games against Columbus due to the upper-body injury that sidelined him for the last two games of the season. His availability beyond that has yet to be determined.

Draper, who still was able to practice, was reluctant to talk about the injury, since it's playoff time. But he said it happened against Buffalo on April 6. He still was able to play the next game against Nashville, though.

"It's not easy to handle, but so I just got to deal with this for Games 1 and 2 and we'll go from there,'' Draper said.

Also, forward Dan Cleary left practice early after getting checked along the boards by Niklas Kronwall. Cleary went for tests, but general manager Ken Holland said he was told the injury is not significant.''

Marian Hossa (groin) practiced and is ready to play in Game 1.

Here's the lines they skated with:

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa
Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary
Hudler-Filppula-Samuelsson
Kopecky-Helm-Maltby (Draper some shifts)

Lidstrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Stuart
Ericsson-Lebda
Meech-Chelios
