I got the push with shitsburg. I have to admit going for the field goal was the right call by Tomlin. What did you have denver at ?

I dont get the reasoning of kicking the field goal there. They are already at the Denver 30 yard line. Either way they need a TD. Even if they got the onside kick, at best they would be at the Denver 45-40 yard line. Worse field position to try and score a TD. Why not try to get the TD with better field position and then save the FG try where they would only need 10-15 yards at most to be in field goal range? I get the time crunch with 24 sec left but still take one shot at the end zone at least.

Poor Mike Tomlin. No matter which decision he makes, he'll always have his critics. Last week, people were going back and forth on whether he should have done the two point conversion or kick an extra point. This week it's this. He needed two scores. He chose to get one of them first. Six of one, half dozen of the other. Hard to believe anyone splitting hairs over it (except a gambler, of course).

Because you can tie the game on the last play with a hail mary, best to take the points immediately then try to score and leave yourself 8 seconds cause then you are likely going to have to throw a TD, no time to get the fg unit on.

True. They were out of timeouts at that point. However, they still had 24 seconds. I thought I would see at least see one quick shot at the end zone. Your reasoning makes sense though.

Textbook. No discussion required at that point on the clock.
