I think it would take the following things:

1. A neutral moderator
2. An Rx Mod who could make sure only the Debate Moderator, Obama rep, and McCain rep post to keep the thread from getting clogged with BS.
3. Two debaters who could debate policy and not bull crap.
4. A list of issues that users would like to see debated.

I would not mind moderating the debate and putting the questions together.

I am the only one something like this interests?

I'd be willing to debate but not about Obama. I'm not really for either one of those guys. Obama is the lesser of two evils buy I'd be a hypocrite to support him since I don't agree with a lot of what he says. We could go with capitilism vs socialism or numerous other topics. I'm game.

Joe - the rx mod would only be there to delete posts from anyone other than the debate moderator, the obama supporter, and the mccain supporter. i am sure funk would be fine handling this if we got everything else knocked out.

realestatepro - doing a debate on anything other than the two we have is a waste of time because all we have is the two we have.

without Green I would consider letting a Barr rep debate. problem is the guy has no shot at winning and even more could be responsible for putting Obama in the white house if he is the least bit effective.

Like how Ralph Nader helped King George defeat Al Bore.

Fuck Barr and I am heavily libertarian.

Anyhow, if you think a debate on theRx political forum will effect the outcome of the election then....I think you'll be disappointed with the attendance around here.

The thing that pissed me off, was how the media blackballed Paul. It seemed like the most press he ever got, was when he withdrew from the race.

No need for debate.. Im right & the Libs are wrong.

You righties are afraid of debate. I've crushed people like you in real life debates. Lets have at it. A moderated debate that does not allow for any name calling or BS posted. Pure factual based arguments. I'm all for it but all the conservatives are too scared I guess.

I tried a thread like this before.

ProPokerPlayer volunteered to represent the right. We had nobody for the left. Here were his terms:

Parsons i would love to participate against a leftist.
Sticking to the rules and sticking to the point.

What i would want is to find the opponent then have maybe a 5 post each exchange to layout the topics and the wheres and whats that can be discussed.
After that a new thread on the main forum that ONLY the 3 of us can post in.
Naturally anyone that cant post on the main forum could not be included.
I would want no time limits to answer each post and the event would have to last say Mon to Friday .
We would also need Wilheim to make sure noone else trys to but in by making related posts on the main forum. The railbirds would have to post here only.
If you would like further discussion on it with me my email is avail thru Wil BUT only you have my permission to obtain it from him.

then fine-tuned to:

I would rather have a confirmed Democrat supporter with the issues being those that the candidates are at odds on..

For instance should the U.S. intervene in the middle east is too generic but Obamas approach of sitting down with our enemies and talking out our problems vs the present policy is a debatable issue.

I would want to focus the debate on the stands the present candidates have taken on a particular issue.

Health care, taxes, liberties, character, past associations, possible VP and cabinet choices, etc. (i know im leaving somethings out)

Im not sure MIMS is the right opponent i havent read a lot of his posts but im radically right ( i posted 4 yrs ago that GWB is a liberal and still say he is. i also dont believe Ronald Reagan was hard line conservative ) and i think MIMS is pretty much a libertarian middle of the road type. I would prefer a Doc Mercer type who knows what he's talking about and sticks to facts. (which ofcourse elimnates Doc himself)...

We got plenty of time lets do it up right...or left.......lol

RX mods would probably ask more balanced Q's than MSNBC mods.

MSNBC mod to Obama...
"Senator Obama. What is your favorite color?

MSNBC to McCain..
Senator McCain
Because of your age and that you lost half the use of your brain during war crimes in Vietnam. Why is it that you cannot say the Chinese alphabet backwards?

Its a waste of time to try to debate them.. its like trying to talk to a 2nd grader who is throwing a tantrum... all they can do is name call and spread lies... they cant win on the issues.
