Alright...so rereading through a thread and caught a Dark Web mention which re-piqued my curiosity. I'm not looking for anything...just have a morbid curiosity of what's there. Checked a couple sites and I think I know how to get started.

But, I'm not tech saavy necessarily. I can navigate the regular web and can detect "danger" with a fake popup or something similar, but I'm really don't know what I getting myself into. I have Norton but that's really my only means of protection...doubt that's worth a damn.

Am I asking for trouble here? And no, I'm not worried about bodily harm, just my info getting out even if I'm not stupid about it. What's down there?? I feel like the secrets of the world are awaiting me! Unfortunately, I'm just old and ignorant to possible issues.

There isnt any more danger surfing the "dark web" than any normal surfing you do daily.

What you will find is the need for bitcoins and an imagination. You can literally buy anything you want and have it delivered. (digitally or in real life)

[h=1]Protect Yourself on Tor, Learn How to Keep Yourself Clean[/h] Next on the list of questions you may have is, what can you do you do make sure you avoid stepping into dangerous websites or going down the wrong dark alley when you are on the Deep Web? Good question.

Well, hopefully we have taught you by now to avoid just clicking on any link you see. That is a very big rule to follow when making sure you do not get yourself into trouble. You can only theoretically “get into trouble” if you go to sites or places that you would not want to be seen in, or would not want the authorities to know you have been there. The best way to do that is to not go to those types of sites in the first place.

What types of sites are we talking about here? Well that is not too hard to figure out. Of course we would want to avoid drugs sale sites (illegal). Not too many legal pharmacies set up locations on the Deep Web so most sites dealing in drugs you can be most assured they are probably not legitimate legal sites. Then you have all of the sites for gun sales, military supplies, (most of it illegal, or else why are they on Darknet?).

Of course any sites having anything to do with hacking, would be wise to avoid. Then any sites with anything to do with hired assassins would also be on this list. NEVER click on any sites with the initials CP. There many be other acronyms that have to do with these initials. But TO BE SAFE. Never go to sites or links which have those initials stressed in the link. That would be sites that have to do with Child P****. We did not type out the words but I think you get what we are talking about.

Sites with also deal with topics such as stolen credit cards or fake Ids would be wise to avoid, and many of these types of sites will be cross linked, since they seem to deal in an area which shares similar needs. Any sites designed to harm people, scam people, sell stolen merchandise, etc would be certainly best left alone. These sites can only be trouble. They might even be fake sites set up by law enforcement to catch criminals, so going there, just the act of visiting the site out of curiosity, might get you in big trouble. So avoid those sites at all costs.

Generally there are probably too many categories of forbidden or illegal sites to list here, But you can probably 99 percent of the time SPOT these types of sites IMMEDIATELY in their link text, since most do not attempt to hide the nature of their sites. I am sure there is a total sub layer of sites and topics that do not even list themselves on Tor directories, or other Tor sites. These types of sites are so illegal that you have to know someone to even be invited and get the actual url to find the site. For us, that is perfectly ok since we do not want to visit those types of sites anyways.

I think a little of both .. lol

I was told you need to watch out which sites you go into ... But hamibet above says there's nothing to be afraid about. So maybe I'm wrong

Woooaahhhh, hold on. There is plenty to be afraid of but no more than usual. Day to day web surfing is loaded with popups, virus, digital and hostage taking. Take proper surfing precautions and common sense and you make it out alive, haha

its really not that hard....you basically use a different browser that only pulls up the dark web pages...and if you want to buy anything you need to use bitcoin.

Like others said, a VPN is a must but other than that, nothing too crazy.

Its really not a place you should mess with, unless you want to put yourself out there in pursuit of Drugs, Weaponry and/or materials to make Bombs.

Yeah, there is Porn but seriously Soul Killing stuff. If it can only exist on an Underground Space thats like a Dungeon one can only access via Total Anonymous Hidden route that is covered (disguised) as coming from some other location than where they really are, so that The FBI "maybe" won't catch you....

Common Sense would dictate that what is down there is pretty bad.

This is not an instance of FBI and Government restricting you from access to stuff that you should see.

This is Law Enforcement trying to battle "content" that is the most -EV stuff possible, stuff that will literally Kill Your Soul

and that is not exaggerating in the least.

100% of the talk about Dark Web is total Hype. Urban Legend. Only +EV use of it is people in North Korea, China and other places where Gov. Blocks internet communicating.

Fuck with it and maybe get yourself on a NSA Watch List.

There is absolutely nothing there, that makes investigating it worth that. ZERO.

With the possible exception of those who wanna buy Drugs over the Internet but even to do that is to risk Cops kicking in your Door.

Its is 100% Hype Fairy Tale Bullshit, this word that Dark Web is +EV to go to, that there is some thing great you are missing, this talk is simply not true.

this is put out there be people who are messing with People

and possibly Law Enforcement themselves in an Online version of "To Catch a Predator."

I'm pretty much begging you to forget it, put it out of your mind, there is Minus Zero there thats worthwhile, and there is Risk of drawing attention to yourself from NSA and other Gov Bodies.....

....for absolutely ZERO GAIN whatsoever.

man ML Dog be dropping science everywhere - - much props !!!

"Dropping Science", sheeeeet, that was good. :toast:

This Lure to Dark Web shit is the most important of all thing to make guys understand cuz there are so many Operations in place on The Dark Web, to trick guys into clicking on a thing that installs Malware on their computer (most normally just to steal Password/ Banking Info...Credit Card Numbers etc.) that then gives someone access to everything guys have on that, and to even plant stuff (upload) to a guy's computer stuff that could literally end his life

or trick guys into ordering some thing thats just a Ripoff (at best, a Set-Up....at worst).

All this bad bad Risk trying to Lure guys in with a total lie that there is anything worth that Risk, there. Its Sad.
