I want to think Graham wants to come out and show a national audience what he is capable of after not being invited to the Heisman award ceremony. Ole' Miss is a dangerous squad though...

That's because that's the right side, line is down to 3.5, this game will be decided by more than that. Ole Miss wins straight up anyways. TT is going to be in for a rude awakening.

I've actually had the opportunity to see both team practice here in Dallas and this should be a good game. Tech not feeling snubbed but having talked to their coaches, they've taken a lot of time to recruit. They've invited several Texas kids from the DFW metroplex to the game and to their practices. My question is Harrell and his progress after the surgery. Remember he had surgery on his hand at the end of the season. He's still not 100%. The backup if he has to play is not ready at all to play. Also Crabtree is only running at 50%. The ankle sprain was a pretty severe HIGH ANKLE sprain. Im not sure he's going to go and if he does, he won't be 100%
As for Ol' Miss, I know HC Nutt and he's been about as relaxed as I have seen him. I actually got a chance to see a couple of their practices before the season. This is a homecoming for Jevan Sneed who was top Texas recruit before electing to transfer to Miss. He's been really pumped for this but he is and always has been a really mature kid.

As I wrote in a couple of threads concerning the Big12 defenses, coming into this bowl season I wanted to see if their offenses were great or if their defenses just were not very good. So far, it is as I have said, their defenses are not very good and it made the offenses look very good. I had a chance to see the Mizzou/NW game and there is not a player on the NW defense that would be drafted in the first day of the NFL draft if at all. Oregon ran the Okie St defense ragged and Okie St defense was ranked just ahead of Tech's. Ol Miss ranks in the top12 defensive nationally but again the offenses in the SEC were pedestrian at best, other than Florida and Miss held them to 30 and beat them. It will be a good game, but I think Ol Miss is a little too balanced. The other thing is that Tech struggled against Baylor and then again against A&M and they both have QBs that are mobile and make plays outside of the pocket. Im sure you know that Snead is the same type of guy and he's probably a better passer and has better targets than both of those guys.

I personally think Tech is laying too many points and I like the Rebels plus the points. I will also be playing a medium play on the ML in this one as I think Harrell is not 100% and believe that Miss will hit him every opportunity they have. They are going to come out with a hybrid defensive look for the 4 and 5 wideout sets that Tech is going to show.

I agree here as I think this a little too mant points. As far as the Misssouri performance I'm surprised that no one here is talking about the fact that Chase Daniels had the flu for several days before the game and was definitely not 100%. I didn't know it until halftime of the game myself as I heard the announcers on the radio talking about it while I was driving down the road.

From what I hear TT is excited to play in Dallas, but who knows. From following the team while in Dallas they have at least said all the right things during interviews. They say they are excited to play in the Cotton Bowl and making history for Tech (a possible first Cotton Bowl win and 12 win season).

They have a lot to lose which can be motivation enough. This will pretty much be a home crowd, which Tech has played very well infront of this year. Should be fun. I will be there!!:smoking:

The best play is probably to take Ole Miss and the points for a first half play. Texas Tech is notorious slow starters in their bowl games.

LOL
I was just looking at that stat as well. They have a habit of getting down early and rallying back to get a win.
08 - down 17-7 to UVA rallied to win 31-28
07 - down 35-7 to Minny rallied to win 44-41

I can see Miss getting a fast start in this one.

Where are you getting this info? I have not heard of this until just now, and have not seen anything about this anywhere.. I dont buy it. :think2:

Any links to an article confirming this??

Also, that sub 100% Harrell brought Tech back from a 14 point deficit shortly after breaking his fingers in his non throwing hand against Baylor, without Crabtree. Taylor Potts will not play a down.

Are you sure you werent at the Armed Forces Bowl practice???

No Sir. Crabtree is their top threat in the passing game. He's not 100%. He's still not able to get into and out of cuts on routes and still is getting the ankle iced after practices. Crabtree is from Carter HS in Oak Cliff, that would be the south side of Dallas to most. I've known him and his family since he was in middle school. As for Harrell still has bandages on his surgically repaired shattered fingers. He also sprained the thumb as well. While he takes snaps from the shotgun, I just don't see their offense being at the same levels health wise as they were against Texas or even Okie St. Comparing Baylor to Ol Miss is not fair to Ol Miss.

If you know Crabs so well then you know he will go no matter what. He is the most fierce competitor I have seen at Tech. Crabtree hasnt been healthy a lot of this year yet he is still a huge threat and requires double coverage. This enables the TT WR corps to find vacancies down field. I will take a 50% Crabtree anyday.

I was in no way comparing the two teams just making the point that if GH played that game why would he not play this game?? No way Potts goes, but you are right if Potts does play TT goes down.

From your initial post you made it seem TT's two best players were out/questionable. I just dont see that as being true. The line would be way different with that kind of info.

Good Luck it should be a fun game.
