This is your Smackin' Good Report for Friday night..This report comes to you from the heart of the Lone Star State...Dallas...and mystery abounds regarding this game line with the buzz on the street a strong..."You gotta be kidding me!
Even die hard Cowboy fans are amazed at the +3 line for the Pokes.
The Cowboys know exactly what the Eagles are going to do this week...throw..throw..and then...throw some more. But, can they stop the pass? Anyone who has seen Dallas so far this year knows the answer to that. Despite Randy Moss being kept under control, Terrance Newman and Anthony Henry are nothing to write home about and they remain susceptible to the big play at any time. Roy Williams, who really should be a linebacker, is ineffective as a cover corner and has not made good decisions this year. One of the more dependable players, Dat Ngyuen, is probably out for the game but officially questionable (linebacker).
The Eagles came back from a 24-6 deficit against one of the best offenses in the league. This means that their defense and offense were up to the task. This is championship caliber play which the Cowgirls will be hard pressed to match. So, the question remains...why are the books saying that the Eagles are only 3 point faves?
Theories:
1. They anticipate McNabb's injury "bubble" (pun intended) to burst. He plays with a sports hernia, bruised sternum and a list of other injuries that would make any ICU doctor cringe.
2. "The Parcells Effect". There is an amazing and strange effect that Bill Parcels has on some in the sporting profession. I dont understand it, but I know its there.
3. General team injuries...Philly is beat up for sure.
4. David Akers (Kicker) out........Nawwwwwwwwwww.
I give up. Anyone else have a theory out there? Even slightly better than alien abduction of McNabb? If so, lay it one me cause the only reason I dont put this as a POM is McNabb's injuries. He is a gladiator tho and this game should never be in doubt.
