Kinda sucks for the players/customers to lose an option like Draftstreet (they are folding the site and just moving accounts over to Draftkings) but industry consolidation was inevitable. People had been predicting it for a little while now.

DS had a good product but I think their site just was never gonna bring the average user in. It needed a total remake, I hated looking at that thing. Their mobile app was pretty bad as well but hopefully DK takes some of their ideas atleast.
Like for NFL they went 2QB and DK only went 1. You gotta go 2 QB for NFL! Their pricing was nice too, although some would say it is too sharp and that turns people off.
I wonder if they even will though. The pricing in particular feels like they won't bother to try to replicate that. The snake drafts I'm not sure why they had to buy DS to figure out how to toss those in. DS had soccer so I think DK will probably add that but didn't really need an acquisition to do that. DK passed DS in market share while being open for about 1/2 as long as them, not sure what consulting help they would really want/need from them.
Seems like they just bought DS because they had VC $ to blow and wanted to put a tough competitor out of business.
Yeah we've actually had this discussion before. The two audiences don't really overlap as much as you would think. Poker players/DFSers overlap a little more (been told this by a site rep once)
What other site do you play at? If not DK or FD it must be 1 of the smaller ones? DD, FF, SS? Just wondering
oh ok....yeah FD is the biggest by far. They released their financials for the first time like 3 weeks ago, was pretty staggering actually. Grew 3x from 4Q 2012 to 4Q 2013.
My guess is with football around the corner them and DK are gonna stepup their advertising of commercials on the ESPNs, FS1's, NBCsports, etc
