I think there's a chance he goes #1. He's the guy the Lions fans want. The Lions are already in negotiation with his agent. He's the best player in the draft. People outside of Detroit think Stafford is a slam dunk, I disagree. It could happen, but this is awfully similar to 2007 when everyone outside Detroit had us getting Gaines Adams/Brady Quinn and we wanted Calvin Johnson.

Who in their right minds would take Brady over Calvin? But I suppose being due to detroit having WR's instead of a QB. I hope the Seahawks get to pickup Sanchez or Stafford. Curry is a solid pick tho imo... gl.

The prop is at Sportsbook.com

At the new logo introduction ceremony, fans were chanting in the background "Don't draft Staf-ford! (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap) and "Cur-ry! Cur-ry! Cur-ry!"

For a +1000 bet, this has a chance. Of course Stafford is the favorite to go #1 overall and will likely go (he's laying -500), but I think there's value here.

I agree 10 to 1 is a great overlay on curry - i wish i had a sportsbook account - what is the limit?

The limit on the prop bets is $50. It was higher last year, I remember placing a $200 bet on Jake Long to go #1.

It's a long shot but I hope you cash this.. I would love to see Lions draft Curry #1 overall.

Some squabble on other forums talking about how a healthy Culpepper is raising some eyebrows and that Currys agent was watching practices on one of the camp days the lions held... I know these tidbits don't mean much but I'm still holding onto any hope that they go in any other direction than Stafford!!! I mean my god if not Curry then they need to at least work on building an offensive line!! What the hell are these clowns thinking?? like Jeff Backus can serve another year as our starting Left Tackle?? A fucking joke! :ohno: :hanging:

I hear ya. We need defense and offensive line. Give me Curry, give me O-Line help. The team isn't going to improve with a QB.

Name one junior QB that has been drafted in the top 5 that has worked out...

You couldn't pay me to take Stafford. If they say "Curry" at #1 I'll be ecstatic.

BTW people, Sportsbook.com raised the prop limits to $300! Go go go!

Don't pay attention to that mock. Every year Gosselin does a 2nd mock draft to present an alternative scenario if the team at #1 were to go a different way than the obvious. In 2008 he did this with Jake Long (1st and 3rd mock) and Vernon Gholston (2nd mock) and in 2007 he did it with Jamarcus Russell (1st and 3rd mock) and Calvin Johnson (2nd mock).

Wait for his final mock to come out Friday night and then use that to bet. Other good resources are Mike Mayock, Gil Brandt, and Nolan Nawrocki. Bob McGinn has good rankings too. Ignore everyone else.

Oh come on baby! There's news reports saying that the GM really wants the pick signed before the draft, Killer just reported that Curry has a deal in place, the Lions said earlier that Stafford deal wasn't close.

This is really a good bet. PFT is reporting that Curry has been proactive with Mayhew and has sent him texts saying that he will take less money than Jake Long did last year to be the #1 pick

Beat writer Tom Kowalski reports that the Lions have a contract in place that would make Aaron Curry the No. 1 overall pick, and are in wait-and-see mode in negotiations with Matthew Stafford.
The Lions prefer Stafford, but are using Curry's deal (which is certainly smaller) as leverage in contract talks. GM Martin Mayhew reportedly won't let negotiations last past Friday. If no deal is reached by then, Curry will be the No. 1 pick. A source tells Kowalski that Stafford's agent will likely agree to a deal, but expects the process to last right up until the deadline.

Thank you, come again!
