That was JOKE in the second inning. How about that great fielding job by the infield???

Also, Zambrano needed to strike out the guys I guess. Hell, one of the outs was the pitcher

I thought you had to win 3 games to advance to the next round?

Cubs will take this in 5 if they can't turn it around tonight.

He has lost MPH off his fastball.

Last two starts he has given up 6 and 5 walks. Two biggest walk totals of the year. It is is no coincidence.

Go ahead. Put money on the Cubs.

Cubs=chokers.

It's really that simple.

Not really. I posted this in another thread before the series started. They weren't that good to begin with.

"Cubs have a converterted reliever going in game 1, a headcase who probably isn't 100% going in game 2, and a pitcher who definitely isn't 100% going in game 3.

Dodgers have the starting pitching advantage. Raphael Furcal will likely be back for this series."

They have an overrated lineup as well and an average bullpen."

I agree they were overrated coming in, but losing BOTH games at home is inexcusable. If you have homefield to start, you should be able to win at least one. They got blown out both games. Jokes.

That converted reliever was one of the best in baseball all season, Zambrano pitched fine.

They choked, face it.

The converted reliever had a career year as a starter. He was anything but a sure thing.

He didn't pitch fine. It is no accident that f*cked up things happen when Zambrano is on the mound.

What are you talking about? Make some sense.

Zambrano is just not a winner. Great stuff, but the fielders know if they f*ck up, he comes apart.

Imagine being a fielder playing behind him. Would you feel comfortable making a mistake and having him show you up?

He is not a team player. That is why horsesh*t happens all the time when he pitches.

Lineup isn't that great either and their bullpen is average at best.

Aces pitch around mistakes, or limit the damage. He gave up 5 runs in the inning. Yes they made errors behind him, and yes it's hard when other teams get extra outs, but that's a part of being an ace.

Big game pitchers step up no matter what happens. He could have easily limited the damage to two runs. End of story. He gave up the double that cleared the bases. He gets a pass for the other two runs because they were scored on those plays but he was was one out away from allowing 2 runs and sending a statement that he's an ace and will carry the team on his shoulders.

He didn't get it done. He fell behind with Manny on deck and had to give in. That's not what an ace does.

Does that make sense?

Why is this season more of a reflection on Dempster's career than the previous 8 or so of his career?

Why couldn't he have gone back to the guy he was his entire career before this year?

He's a pretty good pitcher, but not great. He's never had great control and last night he lost it in a big game. He's had it this year but Ryan Dempster is Ryan Dempster. He isn't suddenly Greg Maddux. He had a good year but he was capable of performing like this at any moment. That's what happened.
