I am confused what the difference is? Why do they care what type of betting is allowed?
They are concerned with the integrity of the league when it comes to sports wagering, but don't want to admit that fans like myself would watch good matchups but have no interest in a run of the mill game, but thanks to gambling I will watch a St.Louis vs Oakland.
I truly believe that the average person watches the NFL for the following reasons"
They follow "Their Team". Local team, life long fan, etc.
Some for Fantasy football (personally, think the only thing stupider is watching is figure skating)
The real reason why people watch- Gambling.
People say the seasons are too long in basketball and baseball, but the only reason the NFL is so popular is because guys think that since they follow the games and they are once a week they can do a much better job wagering on them. Most people are not like most of us here, who follow sports every night and know exactly what happened in which games and who got hurt.
This year, I did not wager on baseball, I don't even know the lineups for any of these teams. When I wagered on Baseball, I knew every player that optioned, waived, injuried, etc.
I am suprised the NFL has not asked NBC to tell Al Michaels to STFU with gambling related comments, as he likes to say, "That TD mattered to some people."
