A team with Kobe as the only superstar has never beat the Pistons.
So the answer is no.
Kobe doesnt have the leadership that Lebron already has at age 22 to gain the respect of his teammates and trust them to help him beat a team full of All-Stars like the Pistons.
Hell no.
Kobe does not have the PHYSICAL ABILITY in terms of strength, size and quickness for that size that Lebron has.
My knock on Lebron, is he takes games off. He doesnt have that killer instinct in his eyes every single game to dominate and compete. He doesnt have the competitive nature to want to dominate night in and night out that Jordan had. Maybe it's immaturity. Jordan out worked everyone on the court. Lebron is finally realizing, if he chooses to dominate, there is no one that can stop him. Literally. Physically. Kobe is a great competitor that doesnt take nights off, but he simply doesnt have the physical size to take over and have 3 Pistons bounce off him like pin balls like Lebron does. No one does. Jordan didnt have the size and wasnt the physical specimen that Lebron is. If Kobe drives to the lane and has 3 people on him, he has to make some 780 spin reverse under the legs around the back miracle to make a shot. Lebron doesnt have to. Lebron can take over based simply becase he is the biggest strongest fastest player on the court, every single game and impose his will on a team.
Lebron is 22 god damn mother freaking years old, with limited supporting cast. He doesnt have Shaq in his prime on his team. Kobe by himself has not won a playoff series, ever. Lebron single handedly took a good defensive team in Detroit, took them on literally 1 on 5 because all of Lebrons offensive players fouled out, and simply imposed his will on them. You can say eastern conference all you want, but Detroit is not in that category. Kobe cannot beat Detroit, even with Shaq he couldnt beat Detroit.
On some shots with Lebron, there was great defense and limited airspace. On some layups, he is so big and so strong, nobody wants to take the charge, nobody wants to get in the way of the freight train, they are all looking for help defensively and sometimes they are caught around the basket simply watching while he does a poster dunk because they will literally get hurt if they try to go up in mid air with him and challenge his strong move to the basket.
You mean like when Kobe scored 40 and beat the Pissedons by 11 last season? Kobe at 22 was winning CHAMPIONSHIPS. Why is someone as clueless as you allowed to continue posting here? Your posts are like sniffing glue.... kills braincells.
hasnt kobe played the phoenix suns twice in the post season.....not even jordan by his fuckin self could beat the suns.
this is a team that we all thought had a chance to win it all this and last year and we are knockin kobe for not being able to beat them???? give me a break.
lebron has a better supporting cast as they have role player who can score and play defense. the lakers just have a bunch of random player put together who frankly do not complement kobe at all. ilgauskas is much better than any player on the lakers besides kobe.
lets stop knocking kobe for not being able to win a series beacause quite frankly he played a championship contender both times. congrats to lebron fo beating the wiz minus their 2 best and the nets who will always mystify us as to why the underacheive.
with that said i do have to agree that what lebron has done against the pistons is special and if he closes it out. his size is a huge factor and we have seen prince and even rasheed back away while lebron is going for a dunk.

Excellent post. No one wants to acknowledge that Kobe had the Lakers in a position to beat the Suns last season. 3 seconds away from advancing to the conf finals (only the Clip joint were in their way). How is it his fault that Odom got outrebounded by a shorter man and failed to foul Nash, even though Phil had told him to foul few seconds earlier? All this talk about how Lebrick has no help is ridiculous. No one mentions how Gibson kept them from being blown out in game 4 and how Gooden hit 3 straight clutch shots in the 4th. Otherwise, they already lost this series. Not to mention he has an all-star, another all-star calibre player and three great 3 pt shooters. Who does Kobe have?
