on a good place to vacation in Costa Rica? im looking for an all-inclusive on the beach, maybe within a cab ride of some type of nightlife. i usually stay at riu properties, but the one is CR isnt open yet. my 2 buddies and i have to bring our girlfriends, so unfortunately strip joints dont count as nightlife :>(. any thoughts would be appreciated
Manifesto-Sorry brother, but I have to put a big thumbs down on this joint. I stayed for 3 days because another hotel was booked and we got a killer price for all inclusive deal which turned out to be a poor choice. 1. When I vacation i like to drink...very bad drinks...possibly the worst I have ever had. 2. Service, this place had the worst service ever and it took me 3 days (the last day) to get me a fucking towel... 3. The food, not good, not bad, forced me to go into town every night for dinner. 4. Gambling...ok, beach options are poor usually, and this was the case here. A couple of cramped tables and the AC didn't work... 5. Lastly, the hotel shows are a bore as is Playa Tambor. The beach was not bad, but all the areas around it are much better beach options. I would seriuosly pass on this place unless your broke.
To answer the original question, and on the opposite spectrum. the Mansion Hotel in Manuel antonio will meet all your requirements, expcept the all inclusive. There are two or three casinos sports bars, disco, fishing, secret strip clubs (Itzamana) and some good ol fashioned buena chicas to chat up in the different hotels and such. River rafting is a must with warm water, Horseback ridiing is pretty good, and the jetski tours are spendy but fun. Never did see a single creature in the park.
thanks for the heads up. checked it out and it looks great, and looks like the golf course is decent also... but now the girls are crying about how they want to go to aruba instead. they're never happy. i'll still be pushing for costa rica, ive already been to aruba.
