Ons Jabeur (-310) vs. Daria Kasatkina (+235)

We were on Jabeur in the last round on the ML and she managed to get it done —- though not before dropping the first set in which she really struggled to find her serve. Though once that serve started firing, very little opposition was put forth. It was fortunate on Tuesday, and I’m thinking it’ll turn out to be fortunate for us again in this spot.

Now I try my best to be forthcoming with you guys, I’m not head over heels in love with this one —— but the pair have played each other 4 times, and all 4 matches have been hard-fought, with none of which being won by either woman by more than 4 games. Moreover, 3/4 have gone to 3 sets, and both times the pair have met in the past year they’ve played 25+ games.

My main reason for the trepidation is that Jabeur's serve really plays well on this fast clay surface, however, Kasatkina really handled Coco’s power game really well in the last round. So I’ve said a fair bit to leave you with nothing —- and I am on fire at this event so we’ll just gotta keep firing till we miss.

Play —- Over 20.5 Games (-109)

Bianca Andreescu vs Aryna Sabalenka
After lengthy layaway that at times was almost permanent, Andreescu returned to the court with a comfortable, if not resounding win in the first round of the Stuttgart Open. The former US Open Champion has struggled to regain the form that saw her lift the trophy not so long ago, and across the net from her, this morning is another young tennis player whose struggling with similar demons —- because for Aryna Sabalenka it’s been anything but a banner year.

Having bowed out in the opening round of 4/8 tournaments she’s played in so far and has managed consecutive wins only twice, the Belarussian is clearly battling herself as the brilliance we saw so much last year has disappeared. It is a shame to, because under the best conditions this pairing would really be a thrill to watch, and perhaps that is still in store —- I just don’t see it likely. Because despite Sabalenka advancing and being a rather large betting favorite, I just have no reason to trust her as such. So find me riding with the Canuck to get it done indoors as the +175 favorite.

Plays —— Andreescu ML (+175)
