Boston much deeper offensively, they have coyle/hall on the 3rd line. Ullmark playing out of skin, lol..Marchand 34, Bergeron 37..these guys r like a fine wine. Both those jerseys to be hoisted at TD Garden whne they call it quits. TB definitely can be had, there is no team that looms above all. Col lost two huge pieces (welcome to the salary cap Avalanche!), need their captain back. Bedar is over playing Makar, imo. He iced over 30 min a few gaems ago, wtf. That's not how they handled him a yr ago during the reg season , they didnt even use him much during SH. Given the minutes he cant free wheel itas often.

Boston is a force to be reckoned with. They play like a team, and the way their president Cam Neely used to play - hard and never quit! Bruins culture gets passed down one generation to the next:

Neely > Chara > Bergeron/Marchand > DeBrusk/Pasta/McAvoy

It's the Boston way - or the highway!

I agree, Avs won't repeat. Too many missing pieces and too worn out from last year's run. Right now barely making the playoffs. Wait...are they making the playoffs????

Vasilevskiy vs Leaf Goalie-of-the Week. Are you making a funny now??? LOL

Huh?

Tb won in a game 7 bro with a Tavares goal called back .and in game 6 a mysterious 2-man adv needed to tie .C'mon stop. Leafs have allowed less goals ytd then TB despite playing in 3 more games

Agreed on the bruin culture

Kane to Edm? wouldnt surprise me, thats how nuts that front office is....look at their dee, lol .......that McDavid kid might be coming home :)

Oilers and Leafs suffer from the same ailment - they desperately need real D and goaltending but can't kick their fetish for flashy forwards! It's just bizarre.

Look at the recent cup winners:

Colorado - Makar
Tampa Bay - Hedman
St Louis - Pietrangelo
LA Kings - Doughty
Black Hawks - Duncan Keith
Bruins - Chara

Did I miss any? Notice a common theme?

I do agree with you, McDavid will come home after Matthews goes home (or at least closer to home - AZ is a dumpster fire!)

You're 100% correct about Edmonton but not Toronto, The Leafs have Murray who has been amazing so far and the Leafs, right now, are 3rd in goals against.

And btw it's not bizarre to have flashy forwards you always draft the best player available.

Bedard.....

He'll be better than Crosby and score more goals than McDavid...

Bedard doesn't have the skills to be a checker, plumber like Cosby or have the speed like McDavid. But I think he'll be an amazing playmaker and top sniper like no other.

He's totally a generation draft pick..

You're right, higher than 10% but not much.

"Chicago Blackhawks are trending for the highest odds of winning the NHL Draft Lottery with 18.5% odds, followed closely by the Anaheim Ducks (13.5) and the Columbus Blue Jackets (11.5%)."

It's a confusing convoluted ever-changing system.

What's interesting is the Montreal Canadians currently have TWO lottery picks, their own and Florida's giving them two kicks at the can, so their chances of landing Bedard are very good - or two excellent prospects since this is a deep draft.

Another kid to keep an eye on is Russia's Matvei Michkov. Russia was expelled from the tournament so nobody got to see him play, but he's a generational talent just like Bedard. Michkov may or may not have bumped Bedard out of the top spot with his electrifying skill at the world juniors, but those two will certainly provide a most interesting 1-2 punch atop the board. So the team that lands the #2 pick shouldn't be too disappointed.

It's a deep draft.
Personally I don't agree with the current systems that reward losing/tanking with high draft picks...I'd rather all teams have a shot at the number one draft pick...I think the best would be to have all the teams get one lottery ball each that's 1 out of 32 that they get to pick first...then give an extra lottery ball to each team that didn't make the playoffs to give them more chances to draft higher and that's it...at least this way rewards winning more than losing...

Haha well it still leave alot open for manipulating at the end of the year teams having to decide to either win or lose according to where they are in the standings...going back to the example I described above I'd be willing to consider giving the winners of Presidents trophy and the Stanley Cup an extra lottery ball...I like to reward the winners not the losers haha...

i agree with your skills assessment and you being a Leaf's fan--in my initial post i wrote he appears to be an amalgamation of marner and austin. Can play make and sniper. Add high hockey acumen without the puck. What's really cool is he doesnt like to lose, has an edge to him. And tough- as a 17 yr old playing mostly 19's at this past Wrold Jrs dude had no issues mucking at the front of the net. And yeah he does not have McDavid's quick feet, that guy is a severe outlier ..we r talking off the bell curve chart type shit..............media going real nutty on the kid, hopefully, he stays grounded ....watch him go to the habs, lol

Kracken start the new year taking care of the Islanders at home then proceed to do this all on the road;

5-2 over Edm
5-1 over Leafs
8-4 over Ott
4-0 over Habs
4-3 over Buff
3-0 over Bost

they b like ; 'can we move to the The Eastern Conference ?"

Edmonton sucks on the back end . Can’t believe it couple players away from a run. Hard to beat the good teams when your giving up safetys
