Here I am with a 401k that used to be worth a half a million $.

It's now worth about $350,000

If Obama becomes President, he'll take a sizable portion of my 401k to give to someone else who hasn't tried to spend a penny.

If McCain becomes President I doubt if he'd do much better unless he cuts government spending and increased government taxation.

Meanwhile, there's some jekoff who's spent every penny he ever earned and hasn't tried to do a thing to help himself or to plan for his future. He foolishly bought a house he couldn't afford and acquired a few equity loans to get the top drawer autos and vacations.

Now he's broke and the congress is spending my future to bail the fool out.

Then there are the corporate fatcats who, in the middle of all of this, are giving themselves and their underlings multi million dollar bonuses without any thought for the well being of their company or the mindset of their stock holders.

As his company goes broke the congress spends even more money to bail out that company and to provide that CEO and the other criminals running the company more bonuses and higher salaries.

Meanwhile the congress spends all of it's time wrining it's hands and pointing it's partisan finger at everyone else.

That idiot in the White House is chasing his tail and shitting himself like a dog on exlax.

Then I come in here and see all of the partisan morons pointing fingers at each other.

Unless we get the Congress and the corporate fatcats under control, there won't be an economy for us to debate.

It took the rich fatcats and their GREED to make loans for homes they knew down the road would be in trouble.

I've always seen it that way - and I've always pointed out numerous times on this forum that the Republicans were the lesser of the evils.

I still see it that way.

What I am going to do is add to the malaise and make the stock market situation worse as I sell of my 401k stock accounts and put the remaining money iin more secure accounts like tax free municipals- I wonder how many others in my shoes who are approaching retirement and see themselves caught between a stock market that's untrustworthy and a presidential candidate who will tax the fukk out of what's left.

The military-industrial complex has been replaced with a congressional-corporate aristaucracy.

Obama 2008!

Oh?

What about Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and Barrack Obama and acorn and Fannie may and Freddie Mac who fueled the real estate situation?

You partisan hacks are amazing as you bend over and spread both cheeks to make it easier for your leadership to fukk you.

Obama 2008!

Obama and ACORN pressured those bankers to expand the loans to people that couldn't afford it.

It's just time to pay the piper...all forms of Socialism suck...thats all.

Are you serious? What do you think we have now? I mean bush and his cronies and the cronies with the D in front of their name are all for socialism and we are already living it. How else do you explain the expansion of the US government in the last 8 years the biggest since FDR? Not to mention the socialization of the markets. You want ot test someones ideology? Bring up the socialization of all these mortgages and i bet you dollars to donuts some moron will ask..."well , did we make money off of it"? MJ for you to sit here and prepetuate what is coming (in the for of Obama) when its already here is a complete fabrication of truth and for that you should be ashamed.

I'm not going to make any excuses for Bush.

But under Obama it won't be a closet Socialist...he will have the full underwriting of Congress to boot. That is a much worse scenario going forward.

In politics you never get what you want...you have to take the lesser of evils.

This is something you still need to learn....or...maybe you want a Revolution...and perhaps you are right...and ahead of your time.

Agreed, with Obama it will be out in the open and more progressive, so like Tiz says, lets get it going now. Its like sitting in the office lounge at the dentist, but with far more reaching implications. I mean the lesser of two evils, i get it, but in reality there isnt much left to pick apart anymore. I give you the Right of Revolution....

Whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Wouldnt you agree its time?

No...I'm not there yet. But a few years of Obama , Pelosi and Reid just might do it for me.
