Computer TECH question: Why does a java update need to occur almost daily?

It seems that everyday and sometimes 3 times a day a JAVA update who want to install on my computer. Does anyone else have that problem? Oh and I have installed most times

Will that cause me to lose all of my stored passwords? I really dont remember most of them

Are you talking about an update to the JVM, or an update to an
application that uses Java WebStart to update itself?

The version of the JVM (or basically Java) on your machine should not
be updating more than even once couple weeks.
