Curious to know......I had my hard drive crash about a month ago......had to reload everything as the disk was unrepairable.....
A friend of mine who is rather sharp with computers rebuilt it for me and put all the bells and whistles back into it.....actually he was an old roommate of mine who knew I gambled and used it mostly for email and gambling purposes.....While he spent around three hours putting my computer together I had the pleasure of using one of his computers on my usual Sunday of watching scores and games and picking off a few halftime numbers as they came up.....
I did fairly well that Sunday as far as gambling goes.....wouldn't have had that same opportunity had I been sitting around the tv wondering what numbers I would be facing on a dead computer that I couldn't bet on...
We've helped each other out with things in the past.....so it's not like he was just giving me something without getting anything in return.......I'm better with glue and screws and a welder and have fixed some of the things he has broken.......
I still have a key to his house, and the next day I left a 16 pound smoked turkey and three cases of Bud to wash it down.......worth about $85......think it was worth at least that...and considering he got on it right away and I didn't have to wait a week or two and made some $$$ on it gambling that same day....
Curious to know what a computer tech in my neighborhood (Nebraska) would have charged me for about 3 or 3.5 hours of labor to rebuild that drive????
I'm thinking I'd have been charged about $50 an hour? Anybody have a guess?
