Go to Screen Resolution under setting in your Display icon of the control panel. You can adjust it there.

If you don't know how to do that, right click on an open area on your desktop, select properties & then choose the "Settings" tab.....that's where you'll find screen resolution.

Assuming your computer operating system is Windows XP:

Click on Start in the lower bar
Click on Control Panel
Click on Appearances and Themes
Click on Change the Screen Resolution
Click the far right side of the slot for Screen Resolution
Click OK

This should change the resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels which is a normal setting for viewing.

It could be that you need to update the driver for the graphics card. I had the same problem weeks ago. What card do you use?

The higher the refresh rate the better. With a CRT, a good baseline is 70. Below that is bad. I think it's less of an issue with flat panels, but may be wrong.

to find out your video card:
Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters
look for the drivers on google

to change your refresh rate in xp:
Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Monitor
change it there, i guess play around to see what works best?
