why would I all of the sudden not be able to log onto sites like covers.com, wagerline, my neteller account(I keep getting messages like login failed), but I am able to login to the RX, my sportsbook accounts, surf the web etc.???

however, concerning the RX, I now have to enter my username and password everytime I want to post a message, but I didn't have to do this before.

any suggestions?

If you're running IE ONLY then you should also have (install) a 2nd browser... Opera or Mozilla

not sure if this has anything to do with it but I also noticed the time on my computer was way off and the year had been changed to like 2450 on my date manager and I tried to run system restore but it wouldn't let me go back that far to the correct year 2003. I'm not very computer savvy as I haven't taken a computer course in over 10 years and that was Lotus 123.

Clay, Just clearing your cache won't work, you need to clear all your cookies also and other thing's. There's a great free program called windowasher, it does it all for you in seconds, windows temp, cache, cookies, etc, also clears cache's in programs like windows media player and realoneplayer.. anyways the addy is www.webroot.com

If that doesn't work, try rebooting, or hardboot (shut down with out going to shutdown in the start menu).. Hope this helps

Clay, just read your other post about yer compuetr year screwed up. Try going to Windows update at www.microsoft.com and look for a fix, I think they have a search tool to find what yer computer may need, IE Critical updates you may need.

Is correct... delete your cookies and I recommend Window Washer too.

But the other stuff like the date change is strange... Maybe you have picked-up a virus. Have you checked your 'puter with a virus scanner?

Clay, was looking around and found a virus that may or may not have somthing to do with your problem, but it does have all the ear marks of my brother's PC. I was surfing on his the other day when it shut down and this window popped up saying it would shut down in 1 minute, I'd never seen anything like it before; it had me baffled. Go here and see what your can find and download the security info/windows updates for your PC, that's the best advice I can give, also get a fireway if you don't have one and run a scam with a antivirus software program.

Hope that helps

thanks guys, I'm unable to access the webroot page because it says that it is unavailible. Maybe I will try in the morning.

I looked around on microsoft.com but I'm not exactly sure what I'd be looking to download to fix these problems.

I went ahead and purchased Mcafee Virus Scan $39.95 with the firewall included, but everytime I run the Virus scan I keep getting a message saying that Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and Mcafee Virus Scan has to close.

???????

Clay, sounds like you have a virus to me, goto an online virus checker such as Norton, or Mcafee, or call Mcafee customer support and see what they say. You may be able to scan your computer from their site and get rid of the virus that way.

Did you ever goto Windows update and look at the virus alert that's posted there?

If you want, you can email me all your information your PC specs IE, windows XP etc, etc, and I could look into it for you, or, If I was you, I would call Mcafee and tell them what's going on and they should be able to help you.

If it is a virus, take care of it as soon as possible cause you may not even be able to turn your computer on tomorrow. Not trying to scare you, cause I hope it ain't a virus, but offense is the best defense against what could be a virus.

Oh, and if Mcafee can't help you, make sure you tell them you want a refund. Norton is much better then Mcafee, try them.
