I never knew this stuff existed and was so easily ingested... I googled it with the words costa rica and there were a few results of cases..

It's not just Colombia.

I knew a guy who got dosed with the stuff in Costa Rica ages ago. And anyone who doesn't think this kind of shit happens in the US should google the name "Andrew Luster".

In truth, I think it's overhyped as a danger in Colombia, unless you're hanging out in some sleazy places. You're much more likely to get a brick to the side of the head or a gun in your face at the stop light.

That plant is called "reina de la noche" in costa rica, and it's quite popular, I've seeing plants around populated neighborhoods, and people drink it mostly on tea for alucinogenic purposes, but I've never heard of the type of stories that are brought on that documentary, truly impressive... I will have some more respect for that plant from now on...

we called that Hells Bells in LA. a buddy tried it 1 afternoon and i watched him. some pretty crazy shit. i told him a Tweety Bird was talking shit to him in the car that had 1 hanging on the window. he went and hit the window and was talking shit to Tweety. also he was in my house and was acting like he was smoking a cig and he said where did my cig go. told him he never had 1 and he swore he did. was doing the motion and all with him hands and blowing smoke out. pretty funny shit but very scary to look back on it now.

Its available on several places and gardens, I would never try it, all the histories Ive heard are bad bad bad... people ending up in hospitals, people allucinating with demons and killers, people blinded for over 2 days, etc. Dont do it. The flowers have extremely variable amounts of the drug in it; so you might not get high or might go on a 3 day trip or even OD. It isn't a hallucinogen, it is a delirant, different ball game.

It is so fucked up, even the crack heads on the street don't take it, and it is free; the thing grows everywhere. That should tell you just how good of an idea it is to try it.

I hung out with the Shane Smith of VICE in Silver Lake many moons ago. Cool dude. He hooked me up with the first The Streets CD. VICE has come a long way, but still remains pretty edgy. Nice to see people still get them.
