Reb, how do you like Tennessee +6.5 @ FL?

Tennessee is one of those teams who lays eggs as a favorite but shocks the hell out of people as an underdog. I like Vols +points in a game that will probably be decided by a field goal...unless you talk me out of it. GL!

5* Houston/UTEP over 61
Another rare totals play for me. Both these teams should score an awful lot of points. Be surprised if this total isn't higher by game time.

El Iguana, that Tennessee/Florida game is very fascinating. I find it particularly fascinating that Florida is a 6 point favorite. Now, from what I can see around the net, most people in the media, like yourself, are saying it's a field goal game. I would imagine most of the bets are coming in on Tennessee. I'm really looking at this one closely.

Don't know for sure how many more games I'm playing, but I do plan on posting winners of the Tennessee/Florida game and the Boston College/FSU game later on today or early Saturday.

Best of luck to you.

Only a matter of expression. See Gonzo/Fixer write-ups for precedent. Winky is alive and well. He just doesn't like teasers in college football.

10* Florida St -1
Boston College seems to be a popular media pick this week. I like BC and think they will probably make a good showing. However, FSU has more talent and much more speed, and that will make a difference. The Noles can send out these 6-2 and 6-3 WRs to battle BC's 5-8 and 5-9 CBs, and when it's a jump ball the advantage goes to the Noles every time. The Noles also have a rugged and fast defense, with perhaps the best LB corps in the land. The Eagles will have a hard time on offense all day. The thing I like least about this is FSU's freshmen QBs, but I think they can be coached up enough to win a close one on the road. I bought a half point just because that's what I do, but I probably won't need it.

10* Florida -6
The line is going up in this one, and I want it at 6. Once again the media is making this to be a field goal game, but in my book the Vols are overrated as usual, while I don't think we've seen the real Gators yet. My primary regret as a fan is that the Florida and FSU games are on at the same time. I would love to relax and enjoy both. Tennessee will run into real problems in Gainesville, and I expect the Gators to win rather handily, outplaying the Vols on both offense and defense. This should be a fun game to watch, but I think Florida fans will enjoy it most.

Like entire card except for Michigan State and USC but have no opinion on either of those two games. Looks like a winning weekend to me. BOL

Reb,

I love the card. I too think FSU will take it to BC tomorrow night.
You complain about not being able to watch both UF and FSU, my wife has me going to a F'n Elton John concert. I can't see either of them. I guess I'll TIVO them both and stay up to the wee hours of the morning watching them.

I really do like this card. IF we can't make money this week, we should give it up.

Reb, I'm with you big on Texas A&M. I got the line last night at 27.5. I'm guessing it went down because of the SMU win over TCU and their win last night over UTAH. The Aggies should roll.
I also like Florida. Meyer has already said that they held back alot on offense last week against La.Tech.
I'm still looking at Arkansas. 31 is a hell of a lot of points. I don't care if it is USC... Good luck this week.

ole miss defense

I will first say that i like Ole Miss tomorrow as well but it not because of their defense. i think vandy is a little too high at this moment and that ole miss will be better prepared on both sides of the ball. The Ole Miss defense did hold Williams to 80 something yards but that was with a red-shirt back-up freshman quarterback taking over on the third play of the game. It was his first ever college game. It's a little different with a senior QB who is a conference first or second teamer. I think Ole Miss will score to stay in this one and win, but i will only give it a small lean. Hope it works for you guys.

It was also Patrick Byrne's first game. He wasn't going to do a thing against OM's defense. Ole Miss' mistakes (dropped and missed passes) were the only thing that kept Memphis in that game. Oh, the missed FGs as well.

I guess the two turnovers in the final six minutes by Memphis didn't help either. It's fine to be a homer but look at the entire game.

I am not going to steal NYReb's thread with this debate. Bottom line, OM won!

5* Oregon St +14.5
Saw this at Carib tonight and decided to grab it. I think Louisville is a figment of the media's imagination. I cannot figure why they are so well thought of, unless it's just that they think they will run roughshod over the Big East. Either way, the Beavers are not in the Big East. In fact, if they could play with LSU at Baton Rouge last week, they should be able to play well enough at Louisville. I see a high scoring game here, and think anything over 2 tds is a gift. I'll take it.

5* Teaser: Oregon St +21.5, over 52.5
I am 7-3 so far on same-game teasers.

We begin the weekend 3-0 Friday night, winning the over, the side on Houston, and the teaser combining the 2.

3-0 +15* so far this week.

We move to 7-3 on same-game teasers.
