UNLV +13 over Central Mich. 1 unit
I like this spot for UNLV with CMU coming off of that huge “gift” of a win over Okie State. Which adds value to my play UNLV +13 as the perceived opinion of CMU by the public is greater than the team plays. UNLV is off of a tight game for 3 quarters against UCLA in an away game last Sat. The score was UCLA 28- UNLV 21 at the end of the 3rd quarter then UNLV had a few turnovers and fail apart.
The Rebels have consistently been able to run the ball this year. They averaged 5+ yards per carry against UCLA and are averaging 5.76 for the season. They have done really well in short yardage situations as well, being able to extend drives and control the clock. I think that UNLV’s running game will continue to flourish and this will give them opportunities for the play action pass.
This week the Fertitta Brothers (they own Station Casinos which consist of about 12 most are located here in Vegas and they just sold the UFC for 4 billion dollars about 1 and a half months back) anyway this week they donated 10 million dollars to UNLV’s football program for a new training facility which will be named after them.
It will be a new high tech facility with weight rooms, study rooms with computers and all the whistles and bells and even a barber shop all on campus. It will be amongst the very best football training facilities in the MWC, which will surely help recruiting.
They (the Fertitta’s) are the prime and main reason that Tony Sanchez got the job jumping from Bishop Gorman High school to the FBS & UNLV they love this guy and without their funding UNLV would continue to be a bottom feeder program in football.
Anyway, we are surely getting value in this play because of the perception the public has of CMU and their last play win (poor refereeing by two different conferences officials) over Okie State……….. regardless Okie State should have put them away way ahead of this play.
Points
1. Letdown spot for CMU….. very possibly.
2. This UNLV defense is upgraded and improved and motivated although they do have tackling issues.
3. The offense and the running game is real and true and shows up to play.
4. Devonte Boyd the wide receiver who is a Vegas a local young man will play on Sundays. He can Ball.
5. The Safety’s and Corners are feisty and will lay the wood.
6. Tony Sanchez has the team motivated and they come each week to bring it for the full 4 quarters and Coach Sanchez is getting every ounce of competition out of his players and resources.
I like to wager on teams that have no quit in them. I like the value we are getting.
Having said that, can we lose………….absolutely…. this is gambling, however all we can do is put ourselves in position to succeed and with this wager I feel that we surely are.
