Maybe a little revenge motivation for the Sooners?

I'm guessing YES!

I give the edge to Oklahoma on offense (3rd, 71 TDs, 12 games) Clemson (12th, 62 TD's, 13 games)
I give the edge to Clemson on defense (7th, 295 ypg, 13 games) Oklahoma (31st, 350 ypg, 12 games)

Kicking game: Edge Clemson in FG's 22 of 25 (Oklahoma 17 of 22)
. Edge Oklahoma in net punting 41.4 (Clemson 37.1)

My money is on Oklahoma. If you don't think them getting embarrassed last year plays a role..you bet Clemson.

Before this weekend, Oklahoma actually had a 1 point advantage in Power Rating. They should be favored slightly. Rankings mean nothing when it comes to lines, we see it all the time in hoops and football. Lower ranked team favored over higher ranked team, and there is no significant edge to the favorite in these situations.

I'll take Clemson all day at +4. Yes, Clemson beat the shit out of them last year. This game is for a chance at the title game, both teams will be sufficiently motivated. The motivation angle is overblown and means little in a game like this. Someone said it mattered the NC coach got an extension before the game, kids will be fired up. How did that turn out? Clemson dominated them, if it wasn't for turnovers and a botched punt that game wasn't close. Madden says it all the time.......all of that hyper excited motivation lasts 5 minutes, then you actually have to play the game and execute.

At plus 4 Oklahoma is overvalued by 3 points on Power Rating. Defensively, they both allow around 20 pts/gm. Net rushing a slight edge to Clemson, 92-85. Most stats are pretty even.

Too many points, this line will go back down so if you like Clemson get them now.

I'm with you and a bunch of others CL. That D delta is a little misleading. Look at who Clemson played...... nobody with an offense worth a shit except maybe ND, which I wouldn't consider worth a shit, Florida State's O wasn't that impressive. UNC probably had the best offense they faced this year and they damn near lost that game, should have for it not some stupid play and calls. OU should roll these guys imo.

Watson by far the best QB they faced all year. maybe Tenny's Joshua Dobbs the previous best QB? Baylor was 2nd stringer, TCU was 2nd and 3rd stringers, Okie St backup QB for all but 3 snaps.

T,
You might want to account for the Delta with this information too.

Your assessment of ND a little harsh too. NFL caliber WR and a solid running game.

Should have lost to UNC? Too many drinks? They dominated the stat sheet, botched a punt, turned it over. UNC had no business winning, and to imply they should have is just ridiculous.

Yeah Biz, no doubt we had a few too many, but that was the game, a shot a score. Last time I go to a game with the cuz's, I'm too old for that shit. That being said, say Fedora doesn't do a Clemson punter two-step and some really bad calls at times, yeah, I think the Tarheels could have pulled it off.

Walsh was the backup, but I was never fully convinced that Rudolph was the better QB.

I think it's a pretty evenly matched game.
I agree. I'll let you handle the OU side of things, but really the only thing that needs to be said about Clemson is they always have a decent chance to win with Watson in the game.

Idk who wins this game yet, I lean Oklahoma, because I've said all along Clemson's ST isn't good enough to
win a NC, and it's bout time to find out I guess...

At times, the Tigers had a hard time with Hood. NOW, imagine Perine and Mixon, who are both better than Hood. That's just the running part. Clemson backers, get all ya want, LOL.

Kinda like the people that got all the UNC they wanted?

Or the people that try and play against Golden St ML, hoping this will finally be the game they lose??

What is so great about Oklahoma? This sounds more like Clemson hatred than anything Oklahoma can do.

I'd add: Clemson beat FSU that had a far superior defense than Oklahoma's. Conversely, Oklahoma has not played a single team with a defense like Clemson's, the best defense they faced was the Vols.

T,

Clemson beat the shit out of North Carolina, if you didn't drink so much you might have seen it. It was 42-23 early 4Q, and that included a "drive" after that Clemson punt debacle.

33-21 First Downs
608-382 Total Yards
319 (5.7/att) -142 Rushing (Something I pointed out Before the game and said I would never play UNC based on that)
Clemson committed 11 penalties for 80 yards compared to 6/44.
Time Of Poss: 39-21

Yet, you somehow thing UNC had a legit shot to win without some poor play calling?

The ONLY thing that saved this from being a final score ass kicking were penalties and a botched punt. Clemson kicked their ass. If you don't like Clemson that's fine. I'm not a fan, I just bet on them from time to time. They let up and UNC scored some late TDS that made the score look better.

You can laugh at Clemson and the people that bet them, but +4 is ridiculous and I will back that up with cash. Sounds like Oklahoma -4 is your Best Bet of the Bowl Season.
