I plead ignorance about all this bank stuff. But I read a sentence last night where it mentioned Citi and BoA (along with a couple others ) as getting bailout money or whatever the fancy term they use. I didn't think they were even close in size; thinking BoA much bigger.

Citi gave me a ton of grief when I tried to CLOSE one of their credit cards maybe 6 months ago. I owed zero balance on the card and didn't need it since B of A gave me a much larger credit limit. Citi kept transferring me from one employee to another with nonsense. I finally had to tell the guy on the phone that I was going to get rude with my next words if he simply did not close the account. What an ASS!

When JP Morgan Chase bought (stole) WAMU via the FED im almost positive JP Morgan is the biggest now, at least deposit wise.

I thought that I saw where Wachovia was in one of the chapters. Maybe the bailout saved them. They are probably a very distant 2nd to BoA in this area.

down to 8.36 but i'm guessing they'll survive with the TARP program as government will probably inject more money to them if need be down the road

reason WFC was a better suitor for WB as they are in better shape to weather the losses due to the bad WB mortgages near term than C was
