I got this e-mailed to me, $10 pool...

Each entry will pick any 8 teams in the NCAA tournament. Each time one of your 8 teams wins, you get a number of points equal to its seeding. For example, a #1 seeded team will get you 1 point for each win, while a team with a #4 seeding will get you 4 points for each win. If #1 seeded UConn wins the national championship, you would only get a total of 6 points by picking them. You would get a better score if you pick #7 seeded Texas and they just win one game. If they win 3 games, you would get a nice 21 points for that pick. If they lose in the first round, zero. Strategy plays a big part. Pick too many Cenderellas and you could get shutout if they don't win. The play-in game does not count. The person with the highest total points with their 8 teams, wins.
Any thoughts? 4 places get paid 50% 25% 15% 10%

that sounds cool. i would take memphis, west virginia, purdue, gonzaga, western kentucky, Clemson, arizona, USC and if you want a long shot that could pay off North Dakota ST and/or Portland ST...Clev St or Utah ST wouldnt be bad either...i wish i could get in a pool like that

A four (or five) seed you think has the best chance of winning three games, the rest six seeds and lower

bmore seems to have every team I would go with. Clemson, West Virginia would be my best bets. Arizona would be another easy choice. Purdue, Gonzaga and UCLA for higher seeds; Ohio State with a couple home games and Wisconsin as lower seed choices

One win from either of the 12s and if none of the others lose in the first round (all as favorites), should put you close to the money

Big thing is that 4's and 5's even 6's are really cool, because their all pretty good favorites in 1 game and have a good shot at 2 or more. Even 3's are ok. You dont want 8's because they arent as safe as a 4 to get you at least some points and their chance of really making a deep run is much smaller than that of a 4 not just half of that...
