i like him also but he messed up soooo many calls today. pulled a real verne lundquist with some of the mis calls tonight.

first game of the year and i don't recall him being notorious for this so not gonna overreact. there are FAR worse to listen to besides him.

ps. somewaht relevant since its the game tonight....but urban meyer was one of the best analysts in the booth during his time off. if this whole dynasty thing doesn't work out for him i hope he goes back in the booth

Couldn't agree more. Musberger needs to do big games, he brings excitement and juice (save any jokes on the juice comment) to a broadcast that few others are able to do. At times has a folksy way of announcing that is well suited for the college game. For my money, still one of the best around.

Fowler is a long time ESPN employee, working his way up the ladder. He works well in a studio or on a set, fantastic host of Gameday. Doing Play By Play, he is just another decent guy. Unfortunately, he isn't doing a second tier Conference game, he's doing the marquee game every week. Herbstreit is solid but not exceptional. Nessler and Blackledge are excellent and IMO the best duo around.

Brent is doing SEC Network games. What a waste. Kessler/Blackledge and Musberger/Palmer should be doing the top 2 games every week, as well as the NCAA Playoff games. I have no idea why ESPN gives Fowler the lead PBP duties. He isn't awful by any means, he's just not in the class of the top guys.

Rece Davis is a lot better then Fowler.

A matter of fact....I`d take Rece Davis,Jesse Palmer and the David Pollack crew over Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit any day of the week.
