2-2 -100.00 Top play loses for a seventh day in a row. Folks, ive lost 7 strait before, but thats got to be the first time I have ever lost my top play 7 strait. Im burnt out. Unless both my last games win, im taking a much needed break.

Choppers, this is an incredibly long season and you need to take breaks throughout the season because if you dont you will without a doubt get burnt out. I just got off of a 5 day break and I came back today and went 4-0. I think saying you saying you are done till June is way to severe because you are WAYYYY to good of a capper. Take the week off and come back on Sat and make just a couple plays I gaurentee you will feel soooooo much better!

good luck tonight!!

This could be my last play with real money till June 1st. I will still compete in the contest I am in, but its all paper bets till June 1 if this loses. I have takin long periods of time off before, and it works for me.

2 units Reds -111 222 for 200 pinny

2-3 -246.00 on the day. One play left. I have 3 units on the Reds. If the Reds win, im up for the day and will keep playing for at least another day. If its a loss, see you in June. Im really to the point where I dont care if the game wins or not. Im not even going to watch the game. I have not even started to cap tommorows games, may not need to. :lolBIG:

It's obvious, win or lose, you are absolutely chasing. 2 extra units in the midst of a horrible streak just because it will be your last play for the month if it loses. Don't even pretend some magical merit came upon this play all of a sudden. If you were having a good day I'm 99% sure you would not have made this move. I still like a lot of things about what you do, this looks like an amateur move all the way. All the best---

Yes it is chasing, and I admited it in the thread. No I dont have any extra insight than I had before. I kind of hope it loses, if you can believe that. Im not one who chases normally, most would have done so a long time ago. 2 extra units is not a hell of a chase, but like you said a chase is a chase, and what im doing is chasing. At least if it loses I will not come back for a long time. There will be no 10 unit special from me tommorow if you know what I mean. I will take my 14 or so units, and pretend like its a new season May 1st.

Mos, good post. Taking a break when in a losing streak or if the mind just isn't right is a good thing. I've done it before and I'm sure many of us have. Adding plays that maybe one wouldn't of played earlier in the day isn't good if it is based on just how the day is going. Chop, if you feel you need a break, no matter how long, then take it and come back when you feel the time is right. If you no longer care if you win or lose then I would say it's definitely that time. Whatever you decide, good luck .

All it takes for me to get back into the flow is a nice winning streak. I never quit on a winning day. If the Reds win, its a winning day. If it loses, I will take a very enjoyable vacation. Im looking forward to whichever happens. Maybe I should not have said I dont care if it loses. What I meant was if it loses, im ready and looking forward to a break. I will come back May 1st all excited like its opening day all over again.

Well my play did not work out. Did not even watch the game. Im sure the Reds blew multiple chances to get into the game, knowing how my luck has gone lately. Im sticking to my break to recharge the batteries. When I come back, I will be fully ready to go for my 100 unit min goal, betting 1 to 3 units max, without chasing. I did chase last night with 2 extra units, knowing if it loses I will be out for a while. I look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.

Im taking a total break till Saturday. On Saturday, I will start making paper bets without money, to see how it goes. I will use those plays in my contest across the street. Only when I right my ship will I return playing with real money.

Choptalk your doing the right thing taking some time off. We all have to take a breather now and then. you will know when to come back. it is the desire that comes back to you. maybe next week. maybe 3 weeks. you will know when it is right for you. Keep the chin up. have a good vacation and come back with i new outlook at things. when you decide to come back best of luck to you

Betting the races is what I do and took two breaks in one year and both times got back to my winning ways. I came back with a clear head, the losing streak forgotten about and nothing but positve thoughts. When in a losing streak you have to do what's best for you, being taking time off, cutting back the number of your plays or betting smaller amounts. Being more selective when you come back usually is a good thing and upping the plays only when you feel like it's time. Learning from your losses so you don't make the same mistakes will only help you in the long run. Enjoy the time off and good luck when you decide to start posting again.

You'll need to average about 23 units/month to get to your "minimum of 100 units" (and thats counting playoffs). Goodluck with that. You can't have a great year every year. Quitter never win, but winners do sometimes take vacations (though not Forrest Gump style vacations). I'll see you when you come back.

Bud, good point. Setting a very high win goal sometimes can make a poster bet too many games if he is trying to get there(his goal) and maybe up his units also. Myself, I would be happy with winning only and the units will come. Hoping for a 100 unit win goal can be putting yourself under undue pressure especially after a losing streak.
