Even Hollywood liberals were left reeling after Chevy Chase's potty-mouthed Bush-bashing Tuesday night at the Kennedy Center, where the actor hosted an awards ceremony staged by People for the American Way.

The WASHINGTON POST on Thursday claims Chase unleashed a rant against President Bush that stunned the crowd.

He deployed the four-letter word that got Vice President Dick Cheney in hot water, using it as a noun. Chase called the prez a "dumb (expletive)." He also used it as an adjective, assuring the audience, "I'm no (expletive) clown either. ... This guy started a jihad."

Chase also said: "This guy in office is an uneducated, real lying schmuck ... and we still couldn't beat him with a bore like Kerry."

People for the American Way distanced itself Wednesday from the actor's rant.

Founder Norman Lear tells the paper: "I thought it was utterly untoward, obviously unexpected and unscripted and all that stuff. And, uh _ it was Chevy Chase. He'll live with it, I won't."

Apparently "The People for The American Way" forgot that people are split into two camps and one of the camps doesn't care too much for Mr. Bush.

Were "The People for The American Way" all supposed to be diehard Bush supporters, and just throw out the fact that America is a diverse melting pot of people and cultures and that "The American Way" is not so clearly defined as some think it is?

Guys:

Yeah, like Chevy Chase has any influence on voters? Give me a break .. I sat between 2 Bush voters on election day who had no clue that Cheney tried to ax the same weapons that Kerry had voted to ax except Cheney did it as Sect of Defv .. or that Bush puppet Goss had tried to cut human intelligence by 20% in the late 1990's .... all they knew that Kerry was "Weak on Defv" and the Most Liberal Senator in Congress (wrong again .. 11th Most Liberal Active Senator since he joined in 1985)

If folks are influenced by the "opinions" of "Celebrity" types like Chase or Limbaugh they need to learn how to read and start getting a tad bit more informed

Bush is proabably the dumbest person to hold an office at any level other than Mayor Barry from DC who used to smoke crack on video - with that said, anyone who believes in capatilistic america cannot vote for a democrat - social liberal and fiscal conservative and I'll vote where my money is.
