Celtics - 3.5, beat this Mavs team by 24 couple weeks ago. Granted, the Celtics shot lights out that day but that was a Mavs team with a healthy Jason Terry who put up 27 points. Now they have no Jason Terry, and they have Kidd going to try and guard another young PG Rondo. Celtics on b2b, and I think Brandon Bass will have a big night for Dallas but I don't see Dallas covering unless Boston beats themselves and just plays terrible. This line seems short to me. Any thoughts on this one? This is 1 of the last 3 games before the break.

def with you on Dallas. anytime you can get a line like this for the C's u have to take it. It starts for me when you compare defenses and pg's. Obviously bos has the much better d, so then it goes to pg. I say this bc no matter what, an offense does not start without the pg. Simply stated, there is no way that kidds old legs will be able to keep up with rondo. If rondo breaks him down it will create open shots bc someone will have to double down. If rondo rushes the offense and tries to force a pass, it could be trouble. I love bos in this matchup to go into the allstar break on a high note

Allen injures thumb before break: Ray Allen hyperextended his right thumb during the first half of Boston's game against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night and did not return. Allen had only one point in the first quarter on a technical free throw before the injury occurred, after which he could be seen flexing his hand. He remained in the game during the first half, playing 19 minutes, but missed the only three shots he attempted. Allen, who was wearing a wrap on his right hand in the locker room, is expected to be ready to go Thursday night in Dallas.

"Allen was injured in the first quarter when his thumb got caught in the jersey of teammate Kendrick Perkins. After scoring 1 point and not making a field goal in 19 minutes, Allen left for good with 8:01 left in the second quarter because he couldn't hold onto the ball. Allen was replaced at the start of the second half by Gabe Pruitt.

Allen said he still had soreness after the game. While coach Doc Rivers doesn't think he will play tonight, Allen plans to test his thumb in a pregame workout.".....boston globe

who knows we will find out more later...like i said i think the celtics will be cautious

several reasons to take Dallas:

Ray allen probably will not play (as of 11AM EST.) With all star break looming this game will not have enough importance for him to play.

Dallas has been hot straight up & ATS this month.

Home team in home game stretch vs road team on a B2B

Most important: Dallas always loses large favorite lines to bad teams, but always covers dog lines against the best teams. They play up & down to their competition, so expect a good game from them.

I'll take the live doggy who has no expectations to win tonight :103631605

I like Dallas tonight - Celtics have been hit or miss lately, and with Allen out and Dallas doing better than avg lately I think that's the lean.

As long as Eddie House doesn't go 9-12 from 3 pt land I think Dallas covers and probably wins SU.

Can't see how this is a play either way until Allen's status is clear ............if he's playing I'm pounding the Celtics.
