Yea, I'm from Boston. And I love following the Celtics and have for years. About a month into this season I cringed almost every time I watched them play. But they have come together. Tatum and Brown seem to be maturing together. Horford provides quiet leadership. Marcus Smart is a gamer who has settled well since they basically allowed him to own the point guard position. Rob Williams, a guy who excited me when the Celts drafted him three years ago because he was the best shot blocker in college bb, has taken a huge step forward as a rim protector and as a rebounder. The bench is also maturing. THey brought in nice pieces in Whte and Theis before the trade deadline.

They are playing tough defense which creates transition baskets. And are smudging all comers. That Minesota team they bludgeoned last night is a top level NBA team.

Think they are worth a +900 bet to bring another banner to Boston.

Who do you guys like? Value?

+900 seems like a solid price. Red hot right now; in serious consideration for the one seed. No question they have a shot.

Not at that price

Celtics will probably fold in the playoffs because teams will force Marcus Smart to shoot. Easier said than done, but that’s the recipe to stop the Celtics

He’s too much a liability offensively for me to think they can win the East or the whole thing for that matter. They will get flamed by a healthy Nets

Uh oh. That's huge. Didn't know that. Shit.
LOL

Team currently 7th in the Western Conference is a top level NBA team. Ok...

What an idiot.
Hey asshole, Minnesota has the second best record in the NBA since the All Star Break.

Do you ever contribute anything positive to this board?

What's your enlightened opinion of who's value to win the NBA title, asshole? That was the intent of the thread.

I'm thinking Dr. Love stepped into some doo-doo here and needs to eat some humble pie.
Nah. He said Minnesota is a “ Top Level Team”. That’s ridiculous. They are above average at best. Top 10-12 at the VERY best.

They will be underdogs in their first round series matchup. I don’t know how anyone with a clue could consider that to be “top level”.

Minny had had the top offense and the 3rd best defense this past month.

celts are playing great ball. The east is tricky right now as NOBODY wants to play Brooklyn in round 1

They've been playing good baskeball as of late. I will conceed that.

But... we will all watch them get bounced in the first round of the playoffs. The "top level" teams will advance to the conference semis while the T-Wolves go fishin'.

Yeah they are not winning a series. They’re not even guaranteed a playoff spot at this point

They're arguably the best team in basketball for the last two months, absolutely positively playing like the best team in the East during that stretch, anyone mocking my boy Mikey is just not paying attention

Having said that, the Williams injury hurts, they need him back

You are overlooking the Cavs' secret weapon. The tables have been turned. Rajon Rondo will work his playoff magic and expose Jaylon Brown like he did Mo Williams in 2010. Karma baby. The Cavs will knock the Celtics out in the first round.
(Kidding).
GL on your play.

He’s been mocked for his opinion of the TWolves. Not for his Celtics pick. Maybe Mikey’s boy Willie needs to pay attention.

Really like their coach and it’s been nice to see Tatum and Brown not step on each other’s toes much. They’ve been playing great ball

But two things going against them are:

- no Williams (obviously)
-Marcus Smart’s weakness offensively is always pronounced in the playoffs

That said, I really like how they play. They’re probably better off being the 3 or 4 seed though and avoiding Brooklyn. I could definitely see Boston beating Philly though
