Getting back into college basketball. Hoping to get some winning plays in as March Madness approaches and I will post them here as I go.

I am playing three today.

Oklahoma State at Kansas State

The Cowboys are going for the season sweep as they beat KSU 61-47 earlier in the year. OSU is a better offensive, defensive, and rebounding team. I am going to go against the public and take the points here.

Play: [#517] Oklahoma State +2½ (-108)

Georgetown at Marquette

Marquette is just 2-4 in the Big East and I think they are going to play a bit desperately. The Hoyas hit the road after a big home win and I’m going to fade the public, line move, and take the home team.

Play: [#562] MARQUETTE +105

New Mexico at Wyoming

Wyoming has been off for 7 days and the last time they beat New Mexico at home was four years ago. If they come out flat and the Lobos can get the lead I think their defense can clamp down for an ATS win. Wyoming is 5-8-1 ATS on the year and NM is a better offensive and rebounding team. Taking the points.

Play: [#645] New Mexico +6½ (-108)

I think Miami/Syracuse is going to be a great game. I want to play Miami but they haven’t won at the Carrier Dome since 2001!

Enjoy the games and good luck

Not the start I was hoping for. I talked myself out of Miami, which wasn’t smart. And, I thought I had a winner on the Golden Eagles at the buzzer, his toe was behind the line! Tough break. Anyway, that starts me out at:

Oklahoma State +2½ (-108)
MARQUETTE +105
New Mexico +6½ (-108)

YTD: 1-2 (-$108)

Will try and get going in the right direction soon.

Not crazy about this card since I'm not finding home dogs that I feel are going to win. See if I can get going in the right direction....

Providence at St. John's

Providence is now at the top of the Big East standings after winning three straight and five of its last six games. On the other side, St. John's has lost two in a row and six of eight. In their last 5 games Providence has averaged 37 rebounds per game while only giving up 28 per. Rysheed Jordan (13.4 ppg) for SJU strained his knee in the last game and was only able to play 7 minutes. He may not be full strength. The Friars are better statistically in offense, FG % and defensively. If they out rebound the Red Storm by 10 they should win, so I’ll take the points.

Play: [#537] PROVIDENCE +3 (-110)

Ok no more road teams picked at noon starts. Not doing well right now but shooters keep shooting:

North Carolina at Louisville
Merely playing the streak here. Rick Pitino is 0-6 SU all time against North Carolina his most losses against any opponent without a win and the Tar Heels have won 10 of the 13 meetings between these 2 schools. The Cards are a horrendous 5-12-2 ATS this year and 1-3 SU against Top 25 opponents this season.

Play: [#605] North Carolina +5 (-108)

North Carolina's collapse was painful to watch. Not getting anything correct right now, glad that February is coming and maybe I can shake this off.

Picks recap:

Oklahoma State +2½ (-108)
MARQUETTE +105
New Mexico +6½ (-108)
PROVIDENCE +3 (-110)
North Carolina +5 (-108)

YTD: 1-4 (-$326)

Back when I think I have an angle...

Going to dip my toe back in the water tonight.

Syracuse at Boston College

Syracuse has lost three of the last four games overall and the BC has won five of the last nine in this matchup. Syracuse is averaging only 65 ppg on the road this year while allowing 70 ppg. And, in their last 5 the Orange are allowing 74.6 ppg.

BC is a decent ATS team this year (ATS wins against L’ville, ND, Miami) and Syracuse is a bad ATS team (6-13-1). Going with the home dog.

Play: [#740] Boston College +115
