Alright, let's get to crackin on the first game of the TNT doubleheader. Cle and Orl both coming off wins at home and on a day of rest. Last week when Orlando was on TNT they got smacked around at home by the Champs and were very rusty 1st half. They did play a better 4th quarter, but by then it was to late. The Magic got a big boost with Michael Pietrus back from injury and his first game back had 27 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. EIGHT Orlando Magic players were in double figures vs Indiana the other night, which shows they have a well balanced attack with the inside out game and plenty of scorers. Lewis, Reddick, Pietrus, Nelson, Boguns, Hedo, and of course Superman Dwight Howard. Plus they are on their home floor and will def not want to have a showing like they did last week on nat'l tv.

As for the Cavaliers, I cannot see as many threats as Orl has. They have Lebron, Mo, and Wally. I don't think you can count on anyone else to put up a decent amount of pts on this squad right now.. also this team is not the same as they are at home (Undefeated at home, great! But this one will be played in Orlando.) Maybe some distractions for the Cavs with the Superbowl festivites going on as well, and they will be looking forward to getting back home the very next day vs the lowly Clips. They have shown struggles on the road vs weaker teams but have played better as of late on road. The other night vs Sac Mo put up 43 points in a 7 point victory. I don't think Orlando is going to let Mo pull off a performance like that again and as long as they can slow down Lebron a little bit. One more note.. Big Z practiced some and I heard he might play tonight. Will def be waiting to hear if he plays or not, which will make this play either a go or a no go.

let's get this discussion going.:drink::drink:

Cavs not as strong without Delonte West and Big Z, granted they have been winning, but againt pissant teams. Since Delonte was injured There margin of victory shot down from DD to barely making it out the building, their only real challenge during this stint was the lakers, which they LOST...like Orl, but will watch,wait and see

First of all knuckleheads -

1. I wouldn't put Wally down as the 3rd threat. I think that Sasha or Boobie Gibson or more likely to fill that role right now and bust out and have a big game. Wally has been a solid role player, but it will be one of the other 2 that step up vs. the Magic.

2. The Lakers were their only real challenge? Are you retarded? They beat Portland in Portland - this is a playoff team that many people think will challenge in the West. Then they beat Golden State the next night on the road - that is no easy task. And they cap it off beating a good Utah team in Utah, where they are one of the best home teams over the last couple of years.

Cavs are the real deal. They are doing this w/o TWO STARTERS! This game in Orlando will be tough - no question about it. They need to push Howard off the block and someone besides Mo and Lebron needs to step up.

I don't mind people thinking Orlando is gonna win (very possible), but get your facts straight before you start spouting off. Cavs will also be fired up for this game - they know it could have a meaningful impact on homecourt in the playoffs so they will be up for it. Z is back, but will be rusty, but at least he's another big body to throw at Howard.

Cleveland+5 for me. I think that this game is going to be tight, and getting five points in a game like this is crucial. This one goes down to the wire, Cleveland+5 is the play for me. :toast:

One stat that stands out to me is the Magic rank DEAD LAST in free throw percentage. When dominating weaker teams, the inability to shoot free throws doesn’t effect the outcome of the game as often. But with two evenly matched teams, I can see how it could be a factor. However, the Cavs aren't all that much better from the line, ranked just 22nd in the league.

even the under is really a lock. NOT

I like the over, both teams can light up the scoreboard, especially Orlando. I don't think it'll be quite the defensive struggle that the Orlando-Boston game was last week. More points will be scored in this game as both teams will be attacking from the perimeter whereas in the Boston-Orlando game it was an interior struggle.

if ORL was smart they would attack from the inside. nobody on CLE is going to stop howard right now. as far as o/u, there is no reason it shouldnt be like the BOS/ORL game. only difference is you have the #1 def and BOS is #2

I told you the travel agent would take us to the winner's circle(and then called everyone a silly bitch). There's three reasons that cause a line to move, number one being money/sharps favoring one side enough to entice people to the other side so the books can get equal action on both sides. Number two being to make bettors think people are betting one side heavily and get the average joe to follow because it's clearly the right/popular side. Number three being the inverse of number two in that various bettors fade steam, go against the public (given that long term, the public loses), etc. And I suppose there could be a number four where the line is initially set off a point or two, as to entice early bettors to take advantage of the line-off and get money on that side, because closer to game time, books know that certain, usually more public, teams will get more action as the start draws near.

Now, the bazillion dollar question is, which is happening here? Orlando has already gone up a point since the opener, so are the Magic getting that heavy of money? Are the books trying to get people to bet Orlando because, "Vegas knows more than we do?" Or are they're trying to get people onto Cleveland by giving extra points? OR did the travel agent just tell Vegas to put Orlando at -5 because the Travel Agent does whateverthefuck he wants, wheneverthefuck he wants and doesn't have to explain shit to anybody... You Silly Bitches
