As Tristan Thompson's contract holdout continues, the Cavaliers are sending signals that they're ready to move on without him if necessary.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports that the team is removing all signage in and around Quicken Loans Arena that features Thompson's likeness, and has already removed all Thompson-related merchandise from both the online and the arena team store.

An elevator at The Q is getting a facelift today...

But the removal of the signage at the arena seems like a bolder step, perhaps intended to send a message that Cleveland is ready to move forward without Thompson if his extended holdout continues.

Cavs need Thompson more than he needs them. He is overvaluing himself a little early, but just pay the man...

I agree he is really important to them. But he wants to be paid like a top big man. For that kind of money I think Cleveland would be able to get an equal or better player for a similar price. Going to be tough with free agency period over and the best players already signed. They could probably wait until the season starts then trade with a team that isn't going to contend to get a big man. One of those deals where the other team would just like to get rid of the guys salary. Where a third team like the Sixers are usually involved to eat the cost of some scrub players thrown in. Maybe they could even get Cousins if Sacremento decides to go another route.

a healthy a Love and Varejao make Thompson a bench player again, no way he is worth a max contract. He is just being greedy

his rebounding is worth a lot to some teams and they will pay him what Cleveland wont.. the right move, no, but he does have the right pull to ask for more, just not from Cleveland since their cap is already blown up if he wants to stay.

Signing him to huge money would be the same mistake the Bears made signing Cutler.

Just because you have a need at his position.
Does not mean you should overpay.
