SEE ITS ALREADY WORKING.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says Caterpillar's chief executive has told him the company will rehire some laid-off workers if the stimulus bill passes.
The heavy equipment maker announced more than 22,000 job cuts last month as it scales back production amid the economic slowdown.

During a visit to a transportation construction site just outside Washington in Springfield, Va., on Wednesday, Obama urged Congress to pass the bill.

The House and Senate are working out differences between competing versions of the legislation.

Obama said Caterpillar's CEO has told him that if the stimulus bill passes he would be able to rehire some of those employees.

22k jobs. Good stuff.

Bilbal, jobs are jobs. Caterpillar comes across as a place with decent pay, benefits etc.

If he said Burger King plans to hire 22k, then I guess you would have the blinders comment more justified.

Whats the matter with Catapillar Bribal?... They build the finest Construction equipment & Diesel Engines in the world....If I was ordering a Class 8 truck I would order it with a Cat engine & spend the money up front to save in the long run....Any Cat product well worth the extra dough.

WW, no worship here.

Just happy to see folks potentially back to work. 7 + % unemployment, it's a sad situation.

If you took your blinders off, you'd clearly understand that my comment has nothing to do with rehires.

Looks like the chief at Caterpillar's flip-flopped on his word to BO. He says
he's likely to persue more layoffs. It goes down as a joke played on BO not the first and surely not the last. Just hope BO doesn't get the same treatment when he has his intended sitdowns with the Muslim Nations.
This guy is likely to be stunned in the spotlight moreso than any leader has
ever been!
