GD, there are probably five casinos in all of CR worthy of your time and I am sure if they had an opening the line would be out the door. There are lots of little casinos around, but really do you want to work in a place that has maybe 2 or 3 tables going at once? I did meet a few of the hosts at the Horseshoe, probably the nicest place around when you consider the "distractions" of working the casino in the Del Rey. Anyways those guys are very experienced. One didn't want me to reveal where he had worked just in case he decides to go back to Nevada to work, but lets just say 13 years as a casino host in a major LV Strip casino. He had semi-retired at a young age and then got drawn into the job there thinking it would be temporary vacation-type thing. Next thing you know he is married to a Tica and happy with a salary that is less than half what he made before.
If you really want something different, just spread your wings and work the pavement in another jurisdiction. Tahoe usually has lots of openings as most people just treat it as a stop on their journey to something else. Since you are already a Nevada guy that will open many doors for you as the licensing and backgrounds are tough, as I am sure you know, for out of staters. Down in Mississippi there are many openings for managers, another place I hear that gets a ton of turnover and definitely is a change from Vegas.
Best of luck, there surely has to be something out there for you sir...
