I have been trying to get a workout in daily. Have been limited lately, but my routine is usually...

20 pushups
50 sit-ups
3 reps of love handle crunches 15/10/8
stair climber 2 mins
treadmill 5 minutes
exercise bike 10 mins

repeat once.

Thoughts on the routine?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Great job general. My only workout lately involves a walk to McDonald's for a Super Sized meal.

Make sure if youre trying to get in shape that you do at least 20 minutes (aerobic) exercise 4 to 5 times a week. you can start doing less and work your way up but make sure when youre doing your cardiovascular you do a minimum of 2o minutes nonstop. GL soldier

Get the carbs out of what you drink. Diet soda (you'll get used to it), Lite beer (I know), crystal lite and water. Was huge for me.

Thanks Joey. I will say that once i get going with the above routine, it is non stop until done. I have a TV in the garage as well which helps take the mind off of the pain.

ANYthing is better than nothing Marine!

Treadmills are great........especially if you live where the climate is frigid.

Dante, I do not do much with weights. Used to work out hard and get some tone, but a short time slacking loses so much quickly.

Dante is right General.

We need 12 min. of jogging or 30 min. of a fast walk minimum out of you.

I am a strong proponent of the 30+ walking on the T-MILL.

Why?

Less injury, easier on joints, more apt to stay with it, mind at ease to think about gambling, and just less stress on the body overall. Walking is the best thing you can do for yourself!

ps- drink good water.

If I have not worked out for over 6 months and am about 20 pounds overweight, am I at risk of a heart attack by starting to run? Perhaps I am better off with a brisk walk to start.

So, I need to do more than 10 on the treadmill. Does the bike not supplement somewhat.
