Carbonneau Has To Be On Very Thin Ice

I'm getting the feeling that monsieur Carbonneau is about to fall through the ice at the Bell Centre in the near future. Coming into this evening's tilt in Edmonton, les Habitants were riding a 2-8 win-loss mark in their past 10 games. It should also be noted that three of those eight losses were to Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Toronto. The focus in Montreal these past few days has to be centered on GM Bob Gainey and his patience, that being how much longer he will put up with these losses. It's no secret that losing streaks in Montreal differentiate greatly to losing streaks on other cities like Tampa Bay, Ottawa or the Island.
Following tonight's game in Oil country, the Habs still have another four games remaining on this current road trip. Now the way the Canadien opponents have been feasting on their prey of late, one has to wonder if the head coach will even be associated with the team on the plane trip home when this road trip concludes.
Oh and by the way the last time I checked, after twenty minutes of action in Edmonton tonight, the Oilers had jumped out to a 4-0 lead over Montreal.

Ivan you are a moron if you think they would actually fire Carbo. I guess you forgot what he did to turn this team from a mediocre one in the East to #1 overall in the regular season last year. He is far from their issue and will also be far from the focus of Gainey but coming from your clueless self I would expect no less. Frankly I dont even know why I open your threads half of them dont even make any sense

And to think you live in Montreal too and with all the media coverage you must see up there you think its the coach's fault??? Have you watched them play during this losing streak do you think its anything to do with him??? How about them not scoring goals? How about them leaving Price out to dry defensively? How about Price's rebound control and just lack of quality goaltending? How about the lack of chemistry offensively in general? How about horrible special teams with no pointmen on the backend? How about no physical play and inability to win puck battles in the corner? Yea all Carbo's fault man you really need to get tha professional help for the personal issues you have that I recommended. All the best hope things turn for you mentally. Good luck!

I cashed large on Calgary on Monday, as I knew this Montreal team is one of the worst in the NHL right now. It was a no brainer to take Edmonton tonight at such a short price, but I played them lightly. because of Edmonton's slump. But this habs team is just terrible, they look like an OHL team out there. Their goalies are getting light up like a christmas tree... I can see the Oilers getting close to double digits tonight.

Look in the mirror asshole because you're the fucking moron. If you actually think it was Carbonneau who turned the team around, then you had best look for another passtime.
Carbonneau turned the team around!!! :):)
Typical pathetic response as usual by the same idiot who continuously contributes zilch.
Get lost or better yet go play in the traffic!

does it really matter what turned them around? they had a good year last year and dealt their veteran goalie to go with price and halak. two young kids, one of which imploded in the playoffs, and had no business being in the all star game this year let alone the starter.

the truth is the habs are an overrated team just like i screamed they were last year in the playoffs. this team is going to one place and one place only....the fukin cleaners.

I disagree. Their simply too talented to be written off like that. Price definitely needs to get his head straighted out and if he ever does, their capable of winning the Stanley Cup. jdigae01, you sound a lot like me when I speak of the Avs. I hate them and pretty much refuse to give them any credit at all.

I dont even need to respond to this post as Bushay hit the nail on the head already with it. Typical fan post of a team in which he does not like who talking out his ass and not looking at the unbiased picture as a whole.

carbo will not be fired by his butt buddy gainey..if it werent for their close friendship, carbo prolly would not even be a coach in the nhl

clearly players and management are responsible for what is happening but one thing for sure is carbo is not doing his job as a coach.

there is absolutely no structure on this team. this team has no identity nor a system. this is all because of carbo.

what was said about the habs this year? that they were the best passing team in the nhl..a team that relied on its speed to win games. there is not even a hint of that.

watch them play and look at how far their forwards are from the d-men. that is why we have so many icings and turnovers.

just watching the game tonight..if you saw on tsn..you heard pierre losing his mind over why carbo would be playing a 1-2-2 that had them being outshot something like 35-7 after the first. rather than use our speed and forecheck carbo tells them to sit back. colorado scores. we stop the 1-2-2 and go back to playing normally and what happens..habs score.

is there a team in the nhl that not only does not have a first line?

a shutdown line?

an energy line?

the habs. with his constant juggling his players do not even know their roles half the time. kostopolous was playing with koivu and kovalev tonight.

the leading score andrei kostitsyn was playing with a player who has under 20 games of experience as a center in the nhl and a d-man.

his job is to get the best out of his players and put them in a position to succeed. dont get me wrong some players on this team play like they dont give a shit half the time but it is amazing how many times they come out unmotivated.

blaming a 21 year old goalie in the media but then being little bitch when it comes to kovalev. seriously how can u respect him? the guy doesnt have the balls to bench kovalev who deserves it or even plekanec but he has no problem blaming price. and why is that? 2 years ago he benched rivet over kovy and lost respect with that move. a guy like rivet who always worked over a kovy who did not.

from all that to his inability to call timeouts is why he currently is just not a good coach. monday against calgary habs were up 2-1..they give up 2 quick goals including a shortie. no timeout. against the oilers. 2 goals in minute to make it 3-0. oilers go on to make it 4-0. nothing. heck even when the atlanta thrashers scored 3 goals in 59 seconds to tie it at 3 a few months back nothing.

down a goal with the opposing team putting their 4th line out on the ice in their own zone. he doesnt put out a line that can score. he puts out his 4th line with laraque, begin and d-man.

the guy benched 2 forwards to play 2 d-men!!

i dont expect anyone to have read all this but jesus fuckin christ he pisses me off and has me completely baffled with his moves.

end rant /

i dont hate the habs so get your facts straight. i actually like some of the players on their team. but you just proved my point below.

tell me what line on your team stands out? do you have a top line that is capable of scoring at will? NOPE.

a shutdown line that can hold the opposing team in check?? NOPE

An energy line loaded with 3 guys who can turn the momentum around by dropping the gloves or throwing big hits?? NOPE.

now lets get to your goalie. two young kids who very well might be good players one day, but right now, they are average and that is hurting your team.

so again like i told you last year, they are an overrated hockey club that gets all the publicity because they are the habs and canadas pride.

calgary is ten times better then them. hands down
